1. Keauhou Bay is located on the western coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. Its name means \"the gathering place\" in Hawaiian. The bay was a significant location for Kamehameha III, who was born in Keauhou and built his palace on its shores. Keauhou Bay is also the site of the Keauhou Holua Slide, a 600-foot long slide that was used in ancient Hawaiian times for sledding games. Today, the bay is a popular spot for water activities such as snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking. Visitors can also take a catamaran cruise or go on a manta ray night dive.
