There are five days of the week when it is open to the public, except Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Reservations are required. Tickets are available on the day (subject to availability) or can be prebooked by telephone (transaction fee applies).
A trip to Windsor would not be complete without a visit to the amazing Windsor Castle, the seat of many kings and queens of England.

The magnificent State Apartments feature some of the finest works of art from the Royal Collection, including pieces by Rembrandt, Rubens, and Canaletto.
There are 10 monarchs buried at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, including Henry VIII and Charles I, which is open to worshippers on Sundays but closed to general visitors on Sundays. The chapel has been a wedding venue for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle since 1997, when they married.
During the winter, visitors can explore the spectacular private apartments known as the Semi-State Rooms. Beautifully decorated, they are used by The Queen to host her guests. From September 2021 to March 2022, the visitors can access the additional five rooms that comprise the Semi-State Rooms. Please note that the Semi-State Rooms are closed when the State Apartments are closed.

Wheelchair Access
The castle is located at the top of a steep hill.
There are nine stone steps leading up to the front door.
Eleven steps lead up to the inner hall. Seven steps are followed by a landing.
From there, there are six steps down to the State Entrance.
Platform lifts on the North Terrace provide access to the Inner Hall for wheelchair users, people with limited mobility, and people with buggies. Castle staff operates the lift, and a Warden is positioned at the top and bottom of the lift. Lift dimensions are 232cm wide x 145cm long.
Two options are available from the Inner Hall. The State Entrance can be accessed by means of a second platform lift, which is 95cm wide x 139cm long and can carry 500kg. Lift buttons are cleaned after each use.
In the Inner Hall, there is a lift that leads to the State Apartments. The Castle Wardens manage the lift from a distance that is appropriate. This lift measures 137cm deep and 100cm and has a weight limit of 630kg.
