1. Dubrovnik Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site because it is one of the best preserved medieval walled cities in Europe. The city was built in the 13th century and has ancient city walls that stretch for almost 2 kilometers. The town has been used as a film location for movies and TV series such as Game of Thrones. Dubrovnik Old Town has many historic buildings and landmarks such as the Rector’s Palace, the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary, and the Church of St. Blaise. The Old Town is accessible by foot or by local bus. The closest bus stop is Pile Gate, which is just outside the Old Town walls.
