Pedal Paradise: Heidelberg-Ladenburg Riverside Bike Escape

Henry was awesome. We couldn’t have asked for more. What a fabulous day out. Bad weather hindered our bike ride however Henry had plan B! We then had an amazing experience in his very comfortable car and drove through the same route the commentary was very informative and we visited amazing wineries. Could not have asked for a better tour guide and day. We highly recommend Henry through Heidelberg and Ladenburg. A highlight of our trip.

A highlight of our trip to Heidelberg was Henry’s bike tour. It was a great activity for teens. We enjoyed seeing a small town and riding past gardens and farms in the countryside as well as fresh fruit from a local stand. A beautiful way to explore a new place as well as getting some exercise.

Henry is an excellent tour operator and we were very glad to have him as our guide. We always appreciate getting to know towns and communities from a local perspective and feel Henry has captured this ideal. Polite and accommodating. An excellent way to learn history and see the sites as if an old friend was giving you a quick tour of their town.

Henry put together the perfect bike excursion for our family. My wife, my young teenage daughter and I followed Henry on a day-long trip out of Heidelberg, along the Neckar river, through the countryside, visiting Roman historic sites (eg, site of the first Roman bridge). We bought and ate fresh strawberries and blueberries from nearby farms and had a scrumptious noon meal at a restaurant in Ladenburg. On our return to Heidelberg, Henry took us on a different path through micro farms. The home of Carl Benz and more. The best part, though, was Henry himself. He has a kind, warm and uplifting spirit, which we got to enjoy the whole day. Being with him was a real pleasure and we recommend him very highly.

A quiet ride through farmlands from the HBF to Ladenburg. Learned of the Roman presence, as it was an official City of the Roman Empire. Also, this was the place where Carl Benz built his first automobile in 1884.

We arrived into the historic town of Heidelberg and after brunch met up with Henry for the 4 hr bike tour to Laudenburg. Henry's funny, engaging, and likeable disposition kept us interested and involved the entire time. The fall foliage and beautiful landscape made it a truly memorable experience. Defintely a must do with Henry if you're in the Heidelberg area. Thanks again Henry we had a wonderful time.

We arrived in Heidelberg having spent a long day traveling and Henry’s bike tour was the perfect way to stretch our legs and dust off that travel feeling... We were a little hesitant as the weather was cold and as it was December and the days were shorter however all our worries were to be soon put to sleep as this bike talk went from strength to strength. Filled with picturesque views and wonderful scenery, the highlight of the trip was the beautiful castle lit up in all its splendour (I couldn’t help but include a picture below as it was so beautiful). It was the perfect pace, we didn’t feel we were being rushed and never felt the need to hurry Henry on. Henry himself was extremely friendly and easygoing with a vast wealth of knowledge of the town and surrounding area whixh was complemented by his witty humor. I would recommend this to any keen sightseers interested in exploring a wonderful city. All the best Liberty

The bicycle tour from Heidelberg to Ladenburg is really great! You cycle almost all the time along the river without any cars on the path and can relax totally and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful landscape. Henry even provides to make a stop for swimming in the river, my boyfriend loved it! Ladenburg is a very special quaint place, Henry can tell you interesting things about its history and show you where to get some delicious ice cream ;). Very recommendable trip!

I did this tour with some business friends. Henry Cottam was an exceptionally good tour guide. The tour was excellently prepared. Henry passed on sound knowledge in a very humorous way. Nice anecdotes loosened the tour again and again and always made for a good mood. The tour is highly recommended.
