BETH, our Altitude Tour Guide and Driver on our full day Mount Cook adventure was he most proessional, entertaining, knowledgable, organized, efficient, safe driver guide we have ever had! She knew about sites and had facts and stories to tell that gave you information and could make you laugh. She built commeraderie within our small group, told us what our sit seeing options were and coordinated the scheduling or our numerous drop offs and pickups. We opted to take the helicopter flight up the glacier and she made sure we were hand delivered to the correct helicopter company. She even made little stops along the way to see the flowers, the sheep, the rushing rivers, beautiful lakes and have some lavender ice cream! Our Mercedes Sprinter Van was clean and a very comfortable ride. Communication was clear and concise; pickup and drop off was convenient and incredibly smooth. Cheers to you Beth and good job Altitude for sending us such a gem!

Our guide, James was very informative and shared a lot of great history and commentary on the Queenstown area up to Aoraki/Mt Cook. He was also helpful in arranging a helicopter trip for me. I had a lovely day on this tour.

An amazing tour with 360 degree views. Allegra, our guide was kind, friendly, professional and full of local knowledge. I was travelling with a senior and she was kept comfortable and she loved her experience too. Definitely recommend this tour.

The trip was great, well balanced with stops at various locations. Allegra is a great guide, very friendly and helpful. The scenery was awesome!! I took another tour with a different company - wish I had done both with Altitude Tours

Our tour guide, Stuart, was great. Prompt pick up and great driving through the winding New Zealand roads. We had a few nice stops with good weather in the morning. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t hold out and we had a rainy afternoon. Definitely bring a change of clothes/layers to be more comfortable on the way home. There are 2 hiking options near Mt Cook. Both are fairly easy with appropriate hiking attire. Otherwise, there isn’t much to do in the Mt Cook region

Tour participants should be aware of the activities on the tour and decide what they want to do before leaving. We wanted to hike and had two beautiful hikes once we got there. Fortunately, the weather held out and the scenery was breathtaking! Our guide, James, was very knowledgeable and made the trip interesting and fun. James‘s commentary was very informative and kept us interested and engaged. James did a great job accommodating everyone’s different plans for the day. James also provided a lot of helpful suggestions for different activities once we got there. James was professional, polite and a responsible driver. We always felt like we were in good hands. Thank you, James!

The tour was great - I very much enjoyed the smaller group size and having the time to explore Aoraki on your own. Our guide, Kevin, was very knowledgeable in the area and was also very flexible - he improvised some additional stops for us which was great. Unfortunately it was raining most of the day which dampened some of the views. We weren't able to stop in Landis Valley for photos because it was raining quite a bit both to and from. Most of the mountains were covered by clouds, but the views were still stunning and I knew what I was getting myself into coming to visit in the spring. The rain let up a bit so I was able to hike Kea Point track with a bit of a drizzle. Had it been a sunny day, it would've been perfect, but I still had a great time!

An incredible day from start to finish. Sinchan shared so much of his knowledge with us and catered to everyone’s needs. Scenic photo stops along the way and a fantastic view of Tasman Glacier.
- Suitable for all physical fitness levels
- Mount Cook is an alpine environment and it is important to bring warm clothes, a rain jacket and comfortable shoes for walking.
- The Hooker Valley Trek is a DOC (Department of Conservation) hiking trail, and we recommend only those with medium fitness complete the entire trail (weather pending). We have a strict departure time from Mt Cook Village and all hikers must return by that time.
