While the destinations you will be visiting are truly spectacular, we at Cheeky Kiwi Travel believe it is our small groups, our guides, the journey and the little details that set our tours well apart. Secret stops, wildlife viewings, specially designed vehicles, complementary refreshments and many other pleasant surprises ensure our tours are an experience to remember. Mt Cook & Tasman Glacier Viewpoint Tour, this small group, fully-guided day trip combines all of the key highlights in the area with the Tasman Glacier Viewpoint walk. ***PLEASE NOTE: The Hooker Valley Track is currently closed beyond Müller Lookout (located between the first and second swing bridges) while the Department of Conservation replaces one of the bridges. This scenic section still offers stunning views and a rewarding hiking experience. The full track is expected to reopen in Autumn 2026.***

A wonderful and relaxing trip! We had plenty of time at every stop, and our guide Chris turned the journey into a truly entertaining experience with his great DJ skills.

Dean ( I don't think I remember my guide's name correctly - but he was a bit on the older side in terms of age) is an extremely knowledgeable guide. I was sitting in the front seat of the van and I remember asking a lot of questions and he patiently answered all of them. The drive to mount cook and the tasman glacier trail was nothing short of mesmerising. Dean made sure to point out the significance of most of important points/lookouts during the tour. The mount cook decided to not hide behind the clouds on that day and therefore the entire drive along with the tasman glacier trail was so much more exciting. The hooker valley trail was also very good. The only thing I felt was - the time allotted for the trail was a bit short and could have been a bit more. Otherwise, I have no complaints. The tour was nothing short of mesmerising and I strongly recommend going for this!!

Really good experience. Dean was a really good guide making the day one to remember. The views were stunning and you had time to explore the tracks at Mount Cook. The views on the road to mount cook were incredible as well. Highly recommend this trip.

What are the chances - we had Holly again for our Mt Cook and Tasman Glacier tour! After such a great experience with her on the Milford Sound trip, it was an amazing surprise to see her the very next day. She was just as knowledgeable, organised, and thoughtful throughout the entire journey, adding so much insight and making everything feel smooth and enjoyable. Two days in a row with such an exceptional guide - we definitely felt lucky!

We had a fantastic Mount Cook day tour today with Joseph as our driver and guide. He made a very long day feel smooth and enjoyable, keeping the journey comfortable with his calm driving, clear explanations, and thoughtful timing for every stop. Jo shared interesting stories about the lakes, mountains, and small towns along the way, giving us context that really enriched the scenery. He also managed the schedule well so we had plenty of time at the key viewpoints — especially around Lake Pukaki and Aoraki/Mount Cook — without ever feeling rushed. You can tell he genuinely cares about the experience of his guests. Even with the long travel time, his professionalism, patience, and sense of humour made the whole tour feel relaxed and memorable. A big thanks to Jo for making today’s Mount Cook trip so smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

I did the day trip to Mt Cook and the Hooker Valley, and Dave (I hope I’ve got his name right) was truly the most amazing tour guide I’ve ever had. Because I’m sensitive to car travel, I sat in the front seat and ended up having the most enjoyable conversations with him throughout the journey. The tour itself is a must-do — the hikes were very manageable, and the landscapes were absolutely breathtaking. I hope you’re lucky enough to have Dave as your guide; he’s a wonderfully gentle soul, especially given his previous line of work. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!
