Our tour operator was very easy to find, they are in the port, in kiosk, right as you get off the ship. They even escorted us to the bus as there are many buses. Runar, our tour guide, was very friendly and had great commentary. The Turf House Museum and church were very interesting. The Godafoss Falls were amazing. The Forest Lagoon was beautiful and very relaxing. There was adequate time at each stop to take in the amazing views and get pictures.

We enjoyed all of the stops on this tour. The museum was nice to see. The waterfall was beautiful. The highlight was the Forest Lagoon geothermal spa. We could have spent several more hours there.

Excellent tour of the waterfall, the turf homes and the spa. For us, it was just the right amount of time at each, well maybe a little longer at the turf homes would have been better. We had the option of being dropped off in the center of town, rather than at the boat, which saved us some walking. Highly recommended

A great day , viewing the falls and enjoying the forest Lagoon experience. Quality bus , met right at cruise port . Organized and on time. A beautiful warm day made the tour excellent.

Bit of a bus ride to the waterfall, but they stop enroute at a former turf roofed house. Good explanation of who lived there (the church priest and his wife and 12 children) and up until when, then you can wander through the extensive building (complete with furnishings from the time). Then on to the waterfall. The falls are not that high but in a semi-circular fashion (think mini Niagara Falls). Go along the path to the left side of the waterfall - better views all along the path way right up to the falls. Then off to the Forest Lagoon (this is a man-made lagoon/thermal pool, not natural, but very relaxing). It has two wade up bars at either end of the lagoon, with views across the water to Akureyri. There is a regular shuttle bus service to Akureyri and the port (about a 10 minute drive), so you can stay longer than your alotted time (just don't miss the last shuttle or the one to get you back to your ship on time). Enjoyable day.

This was a great tour. First we went to see turf houses, church, with cemetery, as well as beautiful Icelandic horses. The ride there was very scenic. Then we went to Godafoss Waterfall and it was majestic and showed off with a beautiful rainbow! The walk to the falls isn't too difficult. Then we went to Forest Lagoon for about 2 hours. This was a lovely site with beautiful view of Akureyri harbor/city. It was a perfect ending to the day and so restful and relaxing.

Saga tour was a wonderful excursion and we enjoyed each stop! Gooafoff Waterfall is spectacular and we enjoyed our coffee and pastry treats. Forest Lagoon was a relaxing time, so happy we were able to locate this excursion for Akureyri port.

Well-organized experience with enjoyable stops at turf homes, Godafoss Falls, and Forest Lagoon. Adequate time provided at each stop and good tour guide info along the way on a comfortable motor coach. Easily found from cruise ship port. Highly recommended if these are sights you're interested in.

We enjoyed a small group tour with Hillary. He was mindful of our surroundings and our age (70s). He advised of the strenuous activity but was careful not to tell that we. Old not so something. With that in mind, we explored waterfalls, craters and various landscapes. When the group decided that we had been at one spot long enough we traveled to another. He made sure that we saw all the sights and provided us with a historical perspective of the area. When one member of our group wanted to stop at a local store, he took us there only after everyone agreed. Hilmar was courteous, kind, informative and willingly to help in any way possible. We loved this tour and our highly recommend it to anyone wanted to not only see the sights but to understand the geological history of the region .
