This tour allows you to understand the places and buildings you see both during and after the tour. Our guide, Marco, used stories to explain the interactions of the Medici family with the history of Florence. He was interesting and engaging. A meaningfull, enjoyable, learning experience.

Our tour guide, Simona was very knowledgeable and very animated for the entire tour. She made the tour very entertaining and accessible to non history buffs. She spoke clearly and with so much personality and answered all the questions. I recommend this tour to all new comers to Florence. It’s a great way to introduce you to the City and its people.

Our guide was Aurelia and she is lovely. Patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable. I didn’t hear one question asked that she was unable to answer and she was engaged by several members of the group in discussions. She knows her Renaissance and Medieval history! She added to our understanding of Florence. Aurelia also gave us information on places to go and see beyond the walking tour; these were accompanied by directions and recommendations for various venues for food and drink. This was our second visit to Florence, and we are very pleased to have had the opportunity to take this walking tour.

Manuel was an excellent guide, he told the story of Florence making connections across the centuries and how the city was shaped by its residents and vice versa. I felt like we saw hidden gems and learned how to “read” some of the city’s architecture. An excellent way to spend 2 hours.

Our tour guide, Camilla was excellent. The price you pay on here goes to the company, not the guide, and the guide has to pay €5 for each person on the tour so it’s one of those where you pay what you choose. Camilla was superb and made the tour enjoyable and informative. Great anecdotes in places to make the history come alive.

The meeting point is in front of the façade of SAN LORENZO church (main entrance, not the entrance of the Medici chapels) next to the marble statue of Giovanni de' Medici who is sitting on a small throne. Look for a small red flag.Return details
