Azores Jeep Safari: Sete Cidades & Lagoa do Fogo Full-Day

We had an absolutely amazing trip exploring Sao Miguel on our jeep tour with Sergio! From the moment we set off, his energy, humor, and deep knowledge of the island made the experience unforgettable. Sergio took us off the beaten path to hidden viewpoints, lush green valleys, and volcanic craters that looked straight out of a postcard. He shared fascinating stories about the island’s history, geology, and culture, and even managed to time our stops perfectly for the best weather and photo opportunities. Every turn revealed another breathtaking landscape — from Sete Cidades to Furnas. It was the perfect blend of adventure, learning, and fun — a day we’ll always remember

Mariano was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Enjoyed his driving skills. In spite of fog, Mariano made the day a success with stories and history. Liked the variety of stopping points on tour.

Mariano was an excellent guide offering insights about the island, life in the Azores and the sights on the tour. Enjoyed the off road experience and chance to see the lakes from up high. Lunch was a buffet with traditional food that was plentiful and varied. Would highly recommend

Our tour guide Eduardo was excellent! He was born and raised on this island and had lots of great stories and history to share. The weather wasn’t the best that day and he was able to offer different options to get the best experience and views. The lunch was delicious and was authentic local food. The jeep was comfortable and we had so much fun doing some off roading as well. Overall, I would recommend this tour to anyone!

I had 1 full day in Sao Miguel and it was well spent on this jeep tour. Our tour guide was Eduardo who is a native of the island, extremely passionate about his work and very knowledgeable. He was very personable and made sure our group had a good time regardless of the weather conditions. I highly recommend requesting Eduardo as your tour guide, you wont be disappointed!

Did the full day Sete Cidades & Lagoa do Fogo jeep tour with Eduardo as our guide. Despite cloudy weather and low visibility, Eduardo really saved the day by adapting the route and showing us alternative spots we wouldn't have found otherwise. His knowledge of the island was impressive - he knew exactly where to take us based on the weather conditions to ensure we still had an amazing experience. The jeep allowed us to explore off-road paths and hidden viewpoints that regular tour vans can't access, which made all the difference. Eduardo was friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about São Miguel. He shared interesting stories about the island's history and geology throughout the day. Lunch and drinks were included, and the local restaurant was excellent. Even with the fog, this ended up being one of the highlights of our trip thanks to Eduardo's flexibility and expertise. Highly recommend Greenzone and specifically requesting Eduardo as your guide - he knows how to make the most of any situation!

Great fun way to see the island and learn a bit of history. Mariano was a good guide with a mellow approach to guiding us around. Jeep adventure, even with rain and fog, was enjoyable. Provided meal was plentiful and a delicious way to taste local food.

First we were driven in 4-wd Jeep to top of caldera on South end of island. Scenery was nice, sun was not fully out so the green vs. blue lake colors were muted. Had lunch at noon at restaurant in Mariano's hometown. Then we went North to top of another caldera. This time visibility was severely limited due to fog rolling in. Oh well. However, Mariano was an excellent guide. He started telling us about the island's history the moment we started the tour and continued stories about the area, his family and the sights for the next 8 hrs. He did not just drone on and on. What he had to say was both informative and interesting. I would definitely chose Mariano as my tour guide again. He was excellent.

A great day with GreenZoneTours. Prefer being on a tour like this, rather than on a bus, since We were able to experience the great variation in Nature close up, while our guide Sergio went out of his Way to make the tour both informative about geologiy, history and botanics, shoving us unique spots on the Way.
