Adele was an incredible guide for our trip to the Forbidden City! You could tell she was a true historian and lover of history and her country’s past. You could not stump her if you tried. It would have been nearly impossible to sort the tickets and arrival without a Chinese guide so we’re very glad we booked and got such an excellent host. Cannot recommend enough!

Catherine Lu’s agency worked well.Booking was easy, and any unforseen issues that arose were easily managed. Tony was a fantastic guide. He is a superb guide, very attentive and professional, with a wealth of knowledge. He was algo able to efficiently manage the queues at the various entrances. Highly recommended.

We had a great time with James. He picked us up directly at the hotel, which is nice additional service. We had an insightful conversation with him about the history of China and learned a lot about this country. He also gave us great tips for our stay here. It was our first private tour and we would highly recommend others to try this experience.

We had the pleasure of having Adam as our guide from Catherine Tours, and he was fantastic! He accompanied us through Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, sharing so many fascinating historical insights and stories. Beyond that, he gave us lots of interesting details about China in general — culture, traditions, and everyday life. It was a real pleasure to explore with him, and we highly recommend him to anyone visiting Beijing!

The Forbidden City is a must see. Be prepared for large crowds and long wait times as security is strict. We were surprised that there were not many artifacts to see outside of the National Museum which is not part of this tour. Temple of Heaven was interesting as well. Be prepared for a long day of walking! Spring took excellent care of us, navigating the busy National holiday crowds and street closures. She taught us about what we were seeing with clear communication and great visual aids.

Jenny was a great tour guide. She was on time and she let me change the summer palace for the temple of heaven being I went to the other the day before. She took me to a good dumpling place. She was very knowledgeable!

James was a very kind and helpful guide. He got us into the Square and Forbidden City nice and early so we didn’t have to queue for too long. He was very enjoyable to be with.
