If you are in Japan during the wintertime the Snow Monkeys of Nagano should be at the top of your list. It was a unique and memorable experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and professional. She made a long trip enjoyable.

very nice tour! my guide was very kind and helpful. from shinjuku, we drove for 2hr nonstop before stopping at a market/restroom, then continued on for another hour-ish before having lunch. lunch was so yummy! the sukiyaki was waiting for us when we arrived and was really good. then, just a 15min drive to the bus stop at the foot of the monkey park. the hike was about 2km, and was icy (i went in january) but was not too steep or difficult. the park itself was very small, but packed full of monkeys! there was a gift shop and toilet at the beginning and end of the hike, and there is a cafe and small food stall at the foot of the hike. we followed the same driving times back to shinjuku (2hr, stop, then 1.5hr) and got back around 7:40pm. overall i am so happy with this tour! it was nice to not have to worry about transportation to nagano and to have a nice lunch. i highly recommend this tour if you are looking for an easy way to see the monkeys!

We spent an incredible day at Jigokudani Park on January 18th. The weather was a perfect 3°C (37.4°F) and sunny—ideal for the snowy trek to the hot springs! ☀️ We started our tour with a delicious, warming Japanese beef sukiyaki lunch before heading to the park. 🍲 A huge shout-out to our guide, Mrs. Aiko, who was with us every step of the way with great stories and insights! The trail was a bit icy (it would be great if they added some handrails!), but there was a super handy shoe-washing station at the end to clean our boots. 🇯🇵✨

Excellent trip to the snow monkeys and the lunch was delicious too. Make sure you have ice spikes for your shoes, as the walk there and back is treacherous. Tour guides, Mary and Chee were great, very informative and made the long bus journeys a lot of fun.

An easy way to get to see the snow monkeys from Tokyo. Very well organised.. Yoshi went out of her way to make the day special for us and also gave us a lot of information about Japan. The bus was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this trip.

The trip was fun. The tour bus was full. The food was well prepared and delicious. Ken, our tour guide was friendly and proactive. He had extra shoes pads for the tour members which helped us tremendously to walk on the icy and muddy trail up and down the mountain to see the snow monkeys. Thank you, Ken!

Wonderful Experience. Be prepared for a long drive, and uphill climb once you arrive. The hike is certainly worth the effort to see these monkeys upclose, sometimes right at your feet. The drive while long was broken up with a bathroom break and later a lunch/shopping break. The lunch provided was yummy and they were very accommodating with my husband's seafood allergy, removing some crackers that were made with fish. Our tour guide Yoshi did a great job giving lots of historical and cultural bits of information. The hike up wasnt too terrible, but it was slippery in spots so yak-tracks or crampons are a must. We brought our own but there are some there for purchase as well. There are also some areas with steps to climb so it was a good work-out and can be taken at your own pace. It took about 30 min to reach the monkeys, so remember to leave time for the return hike too. Highly recommend.
