Montserrat: Breathtaking Views, Gourmet Tapas & Wine Escape

The Montserrat tour was amazing! All the guides were great, but Ale (Alejandro) made it extra special- knowledgeable, attentive, and funny. A joy to have as our guide.

We booked the half day trip with tapas and wine tasting from Barcelona and were in Lina's group who is an exceptionally welcoming and knowledgeable guide. We learned a lot about the monastery and the history of the beautiful Montserrat region. We tasted plenty of local produce and bought a jar of honey and a delicious piece of cheese. Only drawback was we were time restricted and could not go on the funicular nor touch the Black madonna. Hiking seemed rather attractive too on one's own time and transport. We would still definitely recommend the group visit to Montserrat with tapas and wine tasting experience for families. Our teenagers were the youngest ones in the group, however, Lina assured they felt included and engaged throughout the tour, and even had a bottle of house grape juice during the wine tasting joining in for the Salut! Views are truly spectacular !

Montserrat is a must visit from its beautiful landscape and the history of the area. The visit to the winery was especially enjoyable because of our guide Elena, who we learned is a sommelier. She was very knowledgeable about the wines and the process they were made.

This tour is absolutely worth it. Stunning and awe inspiring views at Montserrat Monastery. Our tour guide, Vince was knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the region. We went to the winery after, the wines and tapas were delicious and again, Vince gave an insightful and engaging presentation on the history of the Spanish wine region. If you’re going to do one tour while staying in Barcelona, this is the one, and Vince is one of the best guides I’ve had the privilege to meet!

It was a wonderful trip! God’s creation was truly beautiful and marvellous. The winery was great, and we enjoyed the experience very much. Our tour guide, Luca, explained everything well. A half-day tour was just perfect — but be ready to walk!

It was an excellent experience from start to finish — I would rate it 10 out of 10! Your team is very professional, and the guides speak fluent English with a great sense of humor. They shared fascinating stories and background about each place we visited, which made the experience both fun and educational. The meeting point was convenient and easy to find, and everything ran right on schedule. I also really appreciated Alfonso and your team’s thoughtfulness in waiting a bit for members of our group who had mobility challenges, that was very kind and considerate. The journey from Barcelona to Montserrat by bus, the train ride up to the monastery, and then returning along the northern side of the mountains offered spectacular views of the landscape from different angles. It was absolutely beautiful and well-organized. If I have the opportunity, I would love to do this tour again, and I highly recommend Castlexperience to anyone visiting Barcelona!

This trip was fantastic. Our tour guide, Montse, was very friendly and informative sharing historical and cultural facts about Montserrat and the winery. The entire staff was helpful and also provided facts on the bus rides between locations. I highly recommend this excursion for anyone looking for a trip outside of the site with some breathtaking views of the Spanish countryside and trying some delicious wine.
