Unforgettable Sachsenhausen: Berlin's Profound Memorial Tour
No address available
Award-Winning Sachsenhausen Memorial Tour – A Profound Journey Through History Sachsenhausen was the first purpose-built concentration camp, designed as a center of terror, persecution, and systematic murder. Initially, it imprisoned those the Nazis deemed racially, socially, or politically inferior. Travel through the town of Oranienburg and uncover how the local population both supported and benefited from its existence. Your expert, licensed guide will lead you through key sites, including the punishment cells, infirmary, barracks, gas chamber, and crematoria. Hear powerful stories of resilience, courage, and solidarity among inmates in the face of unimaginable horror. The tour also includes a visit to the Inspectorate of Camps—an unassuming yet critical building from which the Nazis controlled the entire concentration camp system across Europe. A €3 per person donation supports the site's maintenance, and preservation and future restoration of the Sachsenhausen Memorial.

We did our tour with Mikhail who was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and objective. It is difficult to go through the history of a place like this without feeling overwhelmed, having someone guiding you that’s both empathetic and understanding is very helpful. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to gain a better understanding of this terrible chapter of history.

Mikhel is the greatest guide I ever seen, kind, professional and caring. I went to the Auschwitz camp but this one gives me different aspects of the history.

Daniel, the guide was absolutely fantastic - he was knowledgeable, thought provoking and informative. He answered all questions with ease and his history knowledge was excellent. The tour is very sombre when the realisation of what it's purpose was for.

Very interesting and highly recommended. Our guide Daniel was excellent at conveying the context and background of what we were seeing on the tour. Both our teenager’s daughters appreciated the tour. Well worth the money

Danial was an amazing guide. He was knowledgeable, and really loved the subject matter. His enthusiasm and passion shone through. It was a truly meaningful tour; the lessons of the past really do guide how we make decisions in future.

Daniel! Brilliant guide. Informative and animated. Explained the history behind the entire camp culture and gave a perspective on how it happened. The cold, cloudy, rainy day just added to the mood as a bonus.
