Eat Like a Local: Authentic City Food & Culture Tour

Wow! What an experience that was! We had Diksha show us around Jaipur street food. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about Indian food. Diksha explained each food very carefully, including what sauces they use, and her English was great. Never a problem to understand. She was bubbly and fun, which made this such a great experience for myself and my husband. Great value for money, I was so full after the trip. Would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in a cultural experience and wanting to eat local foods.

Fantastic local street food tour. All food and a bottle of water is included in the tour, over 7 savory samples and 3-4 sweets! We were so stuffed at the end, we couldn't eat another bite! The guide, Diksha, was friendly, energetic and passionate about eating and street food. She shared so much information about the foods, culture and local traditions along the way! We even got to go behind the scenes and into the kitchen at a local dhaba! Great deal and a wonderful way to get acquainted with Indian street food! Highly recommend!!!

We loved the local street food tour with Diksha from Nomadic Tours. She was so friendly, energetic and full of passion about eating and street food! She took us behind the scenes at the first stop, a local dhaba, so we could see how the food was being made, explained all the sauces that accompanied the dish and showed us got to eat it to get all the flavors layered! Then we stopped at many streets stalls to try various foods, she knew every vendor and had a good rapport with everyone. We tried 7 savory dishes and 3 or 4 sweets. She shared alot of information not only about what we were eating but also local traditions, customs and daily life. We were so stuffed at the end of the tour, we could not eat another bite! All the food was included in the tour price as well as a bottle of water. Totally recommend!!!

This is my third food tour in India and second one in Jaipur . . . It was the best!! Diksha was amazing. She really knew the history of the stands we visited, had relationships with them, and really knew the food. She was helpful teaching us how to use the condiments, sauces, chutneys etc. She set a good vibe for the group and made the tour a lot of fun. Book!!

We had a fantastic time on our tour! We ran a little late because of a taxi issue but Diksha was so sympathetic and nice about it. She is a fantastic guide, a lovely person and made us feel ride at home in the bustling streets of Jaipur, plus the food was amazing! I highly recommend to anyone looking for an insight into the food, culture and daily life of Jaipur through the eyes of a local. 10/10 ⭐️

This was an awesome experience in Jaipur! A must if visiting. The food was so tasty, our guide Akbr was so knowledgeable we learnt so much about the area and the traditional street food!

We had a fantastic time with Akbar sampling some amazing street food all within easy walking distance of each other. Everything we ate was delicious and we were assured that Akbar knew what was suitable for the English stomach! He was a great host and excellent company. Highly recommended if you love good food but find the street food in India daunting or scary. 5*

This food tour was absolutely spot on - Diksha was a knowledgeable, fun and informative guide and we really enjoyed learning about all the different street foods, and more generally about food and day to day life in India. The food was all DELICIOUS and it was very well choreographed so all the stops were relatively close together. It was also a nice mix of small stalls and some more established places that had somewhere to sit down. Definitely come hungry since there is plenty to get through! I would 100% recommend this to any travellers looking to learn about Indian food, or anyone that wants to try lots of tasty different dishes. I also left this tour feeling more confident about sampling different Indian street foods for the rest of our trip since we learned lots of names, how to eat the dishes etc. 10/10!
