Montego Bay's Ultimate Falls: Blue Hole, Secret & Dunn's River

Tour started out very nice with Kirk our driver & Daniesha our tour guide. Guests had all been picked up and we began the ride…the very long ride 2 hours but just to the first rest stop at a souvenir shop to purchase swim shoes & water proof phone cases. High pressure sales for anything with many sales people. Bathroom with no locks and open to hallway doors exhibition of bathroom processes. We loaded back on the bus for another 35-40 minute drive to arrive at Blue Hole & Secret Falls. The sign in was pretty organized. Our group was all tagged and began the trek…very long trek over soft & cement steps, tree roots, streams, thin boardwalks up and down hills. This was about a 30 minute walk. FYI: IT IS HARD TO WALK IF YOU HAVE KNEE ISSUES. We swam across a murky pond to more vertical climbing about 15-20 feet up a narrow tree root path to jump off a cement platform into Secret Falls. Very fun & exhilarating. A photographer took several photos on the way down capturing ‘fear’. $40.00 USD. For youngers, they were able to jump twice if they were quick. Then we walked back (down cement and dirt steps and over narrow paths & tree roots up & down hills) to Blue Hole to literally swim with the fish. Very relaxing. Folks could swing out and plunge into the Blue Hole and float for 15 minutes. Then came tips for guide and life guard and of course photographer + $40.00 for a photo package. The bus was loaded to go to Dunns River and we were just about out of the Blue Hole drive when we were stopped by the Maryjane brownie man with gummies. 30 minutes of negotiations to sell gummies, brownies and budds. Seemed like this was set up with the tour…. We went for a lunch of Jerk Chicken or other meals (you pay). The loaded up again to go to Dunns River Falls a 30 minute drive. Once at Dunns River a little more hiking, many wooden steps with rails to descend to the ‘beach’ then a 35-40 minute wait for the guide to begin set up of the human chain up the rocks. Many people broke chain and were slipping or pulling others down. The rocks are very slippery. It took about 15-20 minutes to climb. You only get to go once. Then the tips for the guide, helper and photographer with another photo package to purchase. You walk through a craft bazaar with numerous aggressive sales people selling all sorts of souvenirs (seen all over Jamaica) like Oriental Trading Company dropped a gigantic crate. Beware of ‘free’ gifts. Load in the bus-if you did not tip the guide will wait, as well as our driver until the tip is acceptable. Drive back to hotels about 90 minutes to 2 hours. More tips for driver and guide. Tour $250 for 2 people Tips $60 for 2 people Photos $80 for 2 people Lunch $40-75 for 2 people Lunch tip $10 for 2 people Come with plenty of cash! *Great time! *Not so great on budget. *Did not appreciate the 30 minute delay for several guest to decide on buds vs gummies and try to haggle over price.

Our tour guide, Dee, was very professional and clear with her instructions. The brief history and trivia that she gave of Jamaica was very entertaining. I decided not to climb the Falls or jump in the Blue Hole but I enjoyed visiting Dunns River and the activities for the day. It was a beautiful experience.

Water shoes are compulsory, they are approx US$20 and can be bought at a stop before the trip starts. I preferred secret falls & the blue hole. Dunn’s River is a little overrated. You may need a waterproof phone case. The tour guides were good fun. You can attend each location without taking part in swimming, jumping, swings etc. but be prepared to get a little wet.

This aquatic adventure with SNL tours was excellent and exciting led by the funny driver/guide Marlon and his assistant Danesha. This tour included fun events at Secret Falls, Blue Hole and the famous Dunn’s Falls. Musts for this tour are an adventurous soul and water souls. You are expected to jump into the Secret Falls and Blue Hole water but beware of the slippery rocks despite the mandatory use of water socks. The jerk chicken lunch at Linda’s Jerk and Seafood was a bit of a disappointment though because for the added cost of US$19, I was expecting a larger portion of jerk chicken plus some vegetables beside the rice and peas.

You ate going to get wet..... its a great tour and experience. Guides are great and energetic. Bring tip money. Out driver (Marlin) with SNL tours was great and knowledgeable

It was very peaceful. If you are in need of a reset this is the trip you need. The blue hole 🕳 is so special here in the hills of Jamaica and the people are nice there and the beers are good.

This was the highlight of our trip. It was wonderful! The views were amazing. We also had the best driver, Copley, who made us feel at ease. He was funny, kind, and gave us plenty of information about Jamaica on our drive to the excursion!

Danisha was such a lovely guide. She kept us super informed and entertained with fun facts about Jamaica. The travel was very convenient and all the experiences was super memorable. The only downside was the food during lunch. It was below-average to say the least, especially for the price we paid… don’t carry too much stuff along.. just wear your swim suit and leave the cover up in the bus. No jewellery, sun glasses, or anything extra during the water experiences. Carry cash for tips (you can leave cash in the bus and pay them later or carry a waterproof pouch)

The scenery was absolutely stunning and the jumps and rope swings were exciting. My girlfriend and I had a similar sensational time.

we get there in time and safe plus everything was good, fun and a beautiful experience but I thought lunch was included in the cost of the tour, that was the only thing i didn’t like
