The tour features two iconic stops: Sete Cidades, a civil parish nestled within a massive volcanic crater, and Lagoa do Fogo (Lake of Fire), a stunning, protected crater lake and one of the largest waterbodies in the Azores. We opted for a full day, private tour with Green Vision Tours and Joaquim was our tourguide. He tailored the tour to our needs as we had requested to have easy to get to sights and lookouts. What we saw was incredible! Joaquim gave us so many amazing facts about the flora and fauna of the island which made for a very informative and pleasant day. The views were amazing and we were taken to viewpoints we would not have reached on our own. Lunch was good too. However as it was booked as an English tour, it was annoying how much time the guide spent speaking in Portugese to the one Portugese visitor, even though her English was excellent, and he didn't translate those conversations for the rest of us.

We had an amazing time. Our tour guide Joaquim. He was very personable and knowledgable. He showed us the most beautiful and breath taking views. He was very accommodating and made sure to make the most of our time. I wish we had more days to do other tours with Joaquim.

We did three amazing, fun filled tours with our guide Joaquim. He was extremely knowledgeable and full of energy every moment we were together. He led us to the most beautiful views you will ever imagine and small hikes into hidden forests with waterfalls and lush greenery that made you think you were in a fantasy land. We cannot wait to come back and we will be sure to tell all our friends about Sao Miguel and Green Vision tours. There is so much to see and do to fill every minute of your day. Joaquim made sure that we got the biggest bang for our buck and truly gave us one of the greatest travel experiences of our lives.
