Hiroshima & Miyajima: Transformative Private Full-Day Tour

We were travelling as a family with 2 teenagers and were keen to understand more about the sights and history of Hiroshima. Well we hit the jackpot with getting Sei as our guide. Sei was a terrific guide and a great communicator, meeting us at our hotel in the morning of our tour. His great knowledge and keenness for us to ask any questions and understand more about the sombre history of Hiroshima meant we got so much more out of visiting the Peace Park than had we ventured there by ourselves. Sei navigated the various transportation with ease and we had a lovely visit to Miyajima Island. All in all it was one of our favourite days spent in Japan.

Had a great day with Sei, toured the Peace Memorial first. Then headed over to Miyajima Island using local transport. We all had a great day.

What an amazing day with our guide. Hiroko Hayashi met us at our hotel and (firstly) took us on a tour of Miyajima Island, leading the way via train and the ferry, Hayashi provided historical information along the way and recommended a lovely restaurant on the island for lunch where she shared a table with us as we relaxed and chatted away. Next we toured the island before making our way back to Hiroshima via tram where we then toured the bomb site, gardens and museum. The tour went at our pace and Hayashi was very accommodating when we informed he we needed to be back at our hotel by 6pm. Overall it was a great day and one we will remember forever. We spent a great day being shown the highlights of Miyajima as well as being shown the remarkable Hiroshima peace museum. The tour of Miyajima was inspiring, showing us great nature paths and the amazing gate at low tide. The vibrant colors changing in autumn provided a multitude of pictures we will use to remember our trip in the future. The peace museum is an admirable response to such a tragic event. The images should be required viewing for all citizens, everywhere. Thank you Yuji san for the information on both places. We came back with a deeper understanding and appreciation of your impressive country.

Excellent Day Out ... we are a family of four [2 adults + two teenagers 17yrs and 16yrs]. Our guide Yuji communicated very well with us pre-tour and was waiting at the train carriage when we arrived. He was super friendly and supremely helpful throughout the entire day. The tour was interesting, varied, engaging and great paced. We covered a LOT of ground, many sites and took in a load of information. Yuji adapted to our needs across the day and was always making sure we were all happy and comfortable. The itinerary is excellent if you want to cover a LOT in one day [which we did]. The wild roaming deer were a sweet surprise. We travelled by train from Osaka for this day trip which was a big day, but worth it. Left hotel at 6am and got home [after a dinner stop back in Osaka] at 10pm. All up, around 15000 steps - so probs not suitable for little little ones. We chose the convenience store lunch as one pax is a vegetarian and this seemed the easiest option. Yuji was very helpful guiding us back to the station at the end of tour for our trip back to Osaka.

The private tour with Yuko was an excellent experience. From the moment we booked the tour she contacted us to ask about schedule and food preferences. She was knowledgeable and very patient when trying to keep the group together and on track so we would have time to see everything. We loved the flexibility of a private guide and would definitely recommend her to our friends who want to visit the area. Thank you for a memorable visit!

We had an amazing tour of Hiroshima by an expert guide - Mari. She was incredible & showed us around Mayajima island. Ahead of our tour she had great recommendations of places to eat and must visit areas to make the most of visit to Hiroshima. In addition she sent over a draft itinerary of our day along with potential costs which was so helpful! She took us to local shops and restaurants and gave us not only a historical overview but amazing cultural insights. Following Mayajima Island we went to a beautiful Japanese garden, Shukkeien where Mari showed us some of the most beautiful scenery that is in the heart of the city. We had an excellent experience with our tour guide. He showed up on time at our hotel and had a well planned out itinerary for the day. He provided us with cards for the train which we have reimbursed him for and that saved us some time. He was extremely knowledgeable about the sites that we visited in around Hiroshima. He had lived in the United States, and so his language skills were quite good. He saved us a lot of time by buying tickets in advance to get into exhibits. He even pre-ordered lunch for us and again that saved significant amount of time. We thought he was respectful, honest, and interested in our welfare. I would absolutely recommend him.

Our tour guide Megumi was very good. She was eager and thorough to explain the details. She planned the day well and made reservations for the days boat and ordered our meal selections ahead of time. We did not have enough time in Miyajima and she modified the tour for us It was a wonderful tour.

What an amazing tour! Yuko was absolutely wonderful—warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly passionate about the history and culture of the region. Her enthusiasm truly brought Hiroshima and Miyajima Island to life, and she shared stories and insights we never would have discovered on our own. We did a full-day tour and the pacing was perfect. Yuko guided us seamlessly through busy areas, ensured we never felt rushed, and always knew the best viewpoints for photos. Her organization, thoughtfulness, and deep respect for the sites made the entire experience even more meaningful. We walked away with a much richer understanding of both locations and felt genuinely cared for throughout the day. Highly recommend this tour, and especially Yuko, to anyone visiting the area!
