Soweto's Soul: Unforgettable Half-Day Cultural Immersion

I’m from New Zealand so seeing how other parts of the world live is very breathtaking. It was a very humbling experience. Marc our tour guide was amazing in the depth of knowledge he knew about it and its history. He was very knowledgeable and kind he helped our anyway he could and we brought two kids with us 2 11 months and our 7 months old and he was great with them. Couldn’t of asked for a better experience

Khutso was a very informative and knowledgable guide who made the tour really interesting. The Kindergarten was lovely, but quite difficult to see how the children had no resources or toys to play with, however they all seemed happy. We were given an opportunity to buy souvenirs made by residents trying to earn a living.

The tour was amazing, very informative and I would do it again. Clement gave us a real down to earth experience about Soweto and the history of the people. Me and my girlfriend talked about everything we learned all night after. We are grateful for the experience and knowledge.

This was a phenomenal tour, for just my wife and me, provided by MoAfrika tours. Unfortunately, we did not get the tour guide’s name, because he was fantastic! We visited some of the poorest parts of Soweto, where we were welcomed, visited Nelson Mandela’s house, and the Apartheid Museum. Then he took us to his home, there in Soweto, and introduced us to his family. It was a very moving experience.

The guide, Opa, has deep Knowledge of the country’s history and politics which turned this tour into a rich experience. Exchanges with locals were possible and enlightening.

This was the best thing I did in Johannesburg. Took the tour with Carson, and he was one of the best guides I’ve had anywhere in the world

We had a fantastic tour with a great guide Tshepo. He had so much knowledge to pass on. From a tour through the poorest of areas in Soweto with local on site guide Wendy, to the richest of areas in Johannesburg. A great stop at the Hector Pieterson museum was very thought provoking but very interesting. Had a lovely coffee stop outside the museum and ended up at the African Craft market in Johannesburg. Would highly recommend
