Beyond Ordinary: Johannesburg's Ultimate 7-9 Hr Journey

I was looking for a day tour that showed me the best of Johannesburg in a day and I chose well once again this tour. The tour started when our guide, Mo, picked me up from hotel at 8:30 am in the morning. Once Mo collected everyone, there was 3 of us in total, we then went out to the first stop. We visited many notable spots in Johannesburg including Nelson Mandela Square, Liliesleaf Farm, Constitution Hill, Soweto, and drove by much more. NOTE: Since we did this tour on Monday, we could not visit the Apartheid Museum because they were closed Mondays and Tuesdays, book this tour Wednesday to Sundays if you want this tour to take you there - Otherwise, this tour will take you to Liliesleaf Farm instead. The drives in between each site were very informative too and Mo went into a lot of detail teaching us about the turbulent history of Johannesburg and South Africa in general while he was driving us around the city. The lunch spot we stopped at in Soweto was excellent too, it was at a restaurant called Sakhumzi Restaurant. The tour lasted 8 hours and ended when we were dropped back off at our hotels around 5 pm. Overall, I enjoyed this tour and a Big Thank you to our guide and driver, Mo, for the excellent job he did taking us to all these spots and teaching us a lot about the history of South Africa. So, if you have limited time in Johannesburg and are looking for a great day tour that shows you the city in 1 day definitely consider booking this tour, I enjoyed it and high recommend it! - Nolan

I’ve been on many international trips through several different companies, this one by far was the most powerful, impactful one yet . Tsholo, our driver/guide was extremely knowledgeable, as were the individual guides at each site. I highly recommend this tour.

The full day trip was excellent and nicely conducted by Banele, a very kind and professional guide Who made us (a small group of 5 people) to feel comfortable and wellcomed. Our expectatives were to have a general view of the social, historical cultural and architectural elements of Johannesburg. And the expectatives were widely acomplished. Very recommendable as an introduction or as a main activity if you plan to spend a short time in the city

The trip is amazing. A full day tour with a very polite and knowledgeable tour guide Tsholo. He gave us a lot of historical and cultural insights into South African history and not made the tour not just a tourist trip. Tsholo made us feel very safe and comfortable right throughout and the drive was comfortable. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see lots of JoBerg in one day!

My wife and I had the opportunity to join the Ultimate Johannesburg Tour on Saturday, 20th September 2025. Our Tour Guide, Banele, was very nice, patient, and knowledgeable. He taught me that I need to know and appreciate the history of my country. He knew his work. I will recommend Banele to anyone who wants to have the Ultimate Tour. We only had one full day in Johannesburg and this was the perfect way to use it. We got a great overview of the city, the history of Johannesburg and South Africa. Banale was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Our guide was fantastic, Banele. He was very informative and friendly. Be prepared for a long day and the information is heavy. It’s a lot to take in, in one day. A real eye opener.
