London's Iconic Wonders: 1-Day Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour

I had an amazing experience with Golden tours hop on hop off bus in London!! Special mention to our tour guide “Joe” and bus captain “Abdi” who made sure my 45 mins ride was a pleasant one. Joe explained every minute detail of all the London attractions and was so friendly and polite to talk to!! Joe and Abdi deserve a huge shout out!!!

The tour started out just fine, but just over 1/2 way through the bus was involved in a minor collision and was unable to finish tour. After listening to driver yell and curse for about 20 minutes ( he didn’t know I was seated below deck with him), we were told to get off bus. As 2 senior women, we had no idea where to go or what to do as this was our first night in London. I’ve asked for a refund (full or partial), and was denied. I’ll be calling Viator directly when I get home to the USA.

Great way to see London. Bought a 48Hr tour ticket. Cover all 3 coloured routes. Take the trip around, see the sights, stop when you like. Stops very conveniently situated. Our last orange route trip, we had amazing tour guide, named Tim. Locally born, history encyclopaedia. Great guide , made the trip unforgettable. 10/10 Thanks Tim

We had such a good experience on the Classic London bus tour. We had a live guide called Emma who was very lovely and made the tour even better. She was very knowledgable and we even stayed on the bus longer than we planned to keep listening to her. Thank you Emma!

My husband and I are visiting London from Philadelphia in the U.S. we had the good fortune to end up on a bus being driven by Paul and with Tim as our tour guide. I heard someone on the bus describe Paul’s driving as feeling like being cradled in the palm of a cashmere glove and, I will say, that about nailed it. Having Tim as a live tour guide - as opposed to listening to a pre-recorded guide through earbuds - was delightful. He answered questions and peppered his tour with interesting anecdotes and hilarious jokes. He was very helpful in recommending stops and things to do. I highly recommend trying to get on a bus with a live guide - it is so much more enjoyable than the pre-recorded guide. If you are lucky enough to get a bus with Paul and Tim then you’ve got no complaints.

A brilliant hop on hop off tour, made even better with live guide Andy who was knowledgeable and witty. Muhammad was a patient and friendly bus driver. Also great to have a river cruise included in the price, great value for money.

Rain made it worse but staff offered no help, ticket not checked and then struggled to get headphones and maps. Wet seats that could have been dried off for those prepared to sit under rain protection in the top deck. No guidance on where spare seats were or could be allocated. Narrative totally out of time so missed key sites. Someone also constantly talking but needs a script as half the important detail was missed. Wouldn’t recommend.

We had a great trip mainly due to the outstanding knowledge and personality of our guide Emma. She told us so much more than we would ever have got from an audible set.

What a great experience. We came with kids and they absolutely loved it!! Emma was absolutely insane with how much knowledge she had!! We would absolutely come back again for the night tour!

We read that the bus runs every twenty minutes, but we waited in vain for forty minutes at the Lambeth Palace stop and nothing came. During that time, five Big Buses stopped there, and 2–3 from other companies as well. On the chat they kept promising it would arrive in 10 minutes. Eventually a blue bus showed up, so we got on even though we wanted to take the red one. In the afternoon the red route didn’t even complete the whole journey. So next time we will definitely choose a different company.
