Breathtaking Pico Licos: 5-Hr Hike, Climb & Rappel Adventure

This was an AMAZING adventure!!! The guides were so nice and caring. I really had no idea that I was going to have to do the repelling in a small space. The small space had me petrified because I am a bit claustrophobic. They were patient with me to get me going. Once I got going everything was okay. I am also glad they advised me to wear long pants and long sleeve shirt and gloves because I packed those items. If I had not my body would have been destroyed from the clime and the repel. I would recommend this adventure for anyone that wants to be excited and explore new thrills.

This is a moderate - very challenging hike, based on your prior experience. I would recommend wearing long sleeves and pants to minimize scratches / bruises. Lily and Leo were very knowledgeable about climbing techniques and the terrain, and were patient at parts when I was scared. The experience was totally worth it, and I was well prepared to rappel after taking the class offered by them. The views were absolutely incredible, and it wasn’t too hot because it was in the evening.

I flew out of Houston at 2:30 and a few hours later I was hiking up La Huasteca to Pico Lico. It is a beautiful hike up with rock scrambling. Rock climb is not too physically strenuous but don’t look down! I did find it challenging in the 100+degree heat but it got better as the night fell. You get the best of the day, sunset and night views on this night tour. It was gorgeous. The route is rocky so hiking boots would be helpful. I think a rappelling workshop would also be helpful if you haven’t rappelled before. Lyli took awesome pictures, which I very much appreciated as a solo traveler. Highly recommend!

I loved this adventure, the view of the city is to remember. Also, the experience of rappelling at night is another level. It is definitely an experience worth trying and more if it is with a team like LyliAventuras, because at all times I felt safe and the journey was the most fun.

The night views with the city lights are incredible, it is a different experience than doing it during the day, it has a low level of difficulty and with the guides I always felt safe
