Unforgettable Valencia: Old Town Wine & Tapas in 11th Century Gem

This was very fun. We had a terrific guide (Iain) who shared history and culture with us in a fun way. After a walking tour we enjoyed many courses of tapas and several different wines. Our group of 11 hit it off and we had a great evening.

We had a lovely evening with our tour guide Emily and around 8 other tourists where we had a 90 minute walking tour of the Old Town, followed by tasting several delicious tapas dishes and sampling many types of local wine. The walking tour introduced us to the sights of the Old Town, telling us about the history of the area. It was an easy walk and anyone of any age would find it comfortable. And then the main highlight was enjoying tapas and sampling the wines in a lovely historical building, again hosted by Emily where she described each wine and each tapas dish we were about to enjoy. We met some lovely people and within minutes we were taking and laughing. I would totally recommend this event, which you could do either as part of a couple or if travelling solo.

First we walked down the old narrow streets visiting both special places where few visit while our guide shared his deep historical knowledge. A highlight was the Cathedral where we learned was also home to the true holy grail sanctioned by the Pope because it has been carbon dated to the time of the Last Supper and contained sand particles from Jerusalem. Our guide’s sense of humor- kept the tour fun and interesting. Then we stopped in a charming hotel with a wonderful open area where we were served an amazing variety of tapas as well different wines matched to them. A truly wonderful combination of seeing a variety of historical sites as well as tasting a unique selection of premium tapas.

A wonderful experience from start to finish. The walking tour was insightful and fun, and the food and wine delicious. Ellie was lovely, a great hostess and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend!

On my third visit to the beautiful Valencia I took a guided tour and dinner experience, dubious? Yes, but with my 11 new friends we ambled the city. Ellie, her incredible experience belies her years, guided us and expertly informed us in an informal manner of the history of many majestic cathedrals and city landmarks. Then we sat for tapas and wine as she explained the dishes and the local wines for each course in a beautiful courtyard setting- had no idea that we would pass over four hours in each other’s company , strangers, but it was a really enjoyable evening- Ellie is class, the city is stunning!

What a FABULOUS experience!!! We’ve traveled on over 100 cruises and this was one of the best tours we’ve experienced in Europe, thanks to both Mimi and “The Wall” overflowing authentic Tapas & Wine experience. From her superior explanations to the absolutely PRIVATE setting within The 11th Century Wall area. it was truly an incredible.day. Don’t miss this!!! So fun ! Cormac was excellent. I would really reommend it to friends. Great food, lots of drinks. Moneys worth. And so nice to meet so many new people. Perfect size group.

Mimi did an excellent job leading the tour. The tapas and wine were very good. We were disappointed that we were not served paella since it’s the signature dish of Valencia.
