Why mess around for 90 minutes on a boat when you can get there in minutes and see the island and Perth from a totally different perspective. Great fun, another adventure and would definitely recommend it to anyone. It’s the way to do it! James and Angela were excellent pilots and hosts too.

We did the return flight to Rottnest . Flight time was changed to an hour early which worked out better than original plan and plenty of notice was given. Kirsty was very helpful on all aspects of arranging everything and explaining how to get to the jetty in the morning. Jackson at the landing was excellent and Liam the pilot was great as well, with a good sense of humour. We had to land at the airsrtip on the island which was a bonus as we flew over the whole of the island. Due to the plane not being full we got window seats out and back . I went out in 1970 on a light aircraft and it was great to do it again 54 years later. Just a great memorable experience. Peter and Ruth

On our recent holiday in Western Australia we booked a return flight from Perth to Rottnest Island by seaplane. Having newly arrived in Perth, it wasn’t immediately obvious where we should go to catch the flight, but that was easily sorted out by a quick phone call. Once we had found the right jetty on the Swan River, however, we had an unforgettable and quite magical experience. Our reception, the safety briefing and the flight itself were all excellent. The views from the air of Perth, the coastline and ‘Rotto’ on a sunny late-summer day were just lovely, and we felt in vey safe and professional hands throughout. It was one of the highlights of our holiday. Thank you.

This was such a great experience. Our flight over to Rottnest took about 12 minutes. The plane was full and space is tight but it was such a wonderful experience. Fun with fantastic views over the river, city and Rottnest. Taking off from the water was fun and the staff are wonderful. Dean explained everything before we got on the plane and was charming and delightful. On the way back there were only us and three others. Again fantastic views and a wonderfully quick way to leave the island after a long day of biking, walking and a long lunch! Our pilot, Liam was lovely and a very safe and smooth flyer! My husband sat up with him in the cockpit for the return flight and really enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend for a different experience to get to Rottnest. Also the weather wasn’t great for our trip to Rottnest but not too windy so we could still fly. It was totally worth skipping the long and bumpy ferry trip! Loved it.

We actually didnt do our Rottnest seaplane trip. It was cancelled due to strong winds and we couldnt reschedule as we were only in Perth for a short time. I did want to write a review though to commend Dean on the professional way that he and the team handled this situation. Obviously Swan River Seaplanes wanted us to go as much as we wanted to but you cant control the weather and the team managed to re-book us on the ferry with just minutes to spare. So we still made it to the island and had a great day. I do think its good to know and also to spread the word that this is a very professional, reputable company that will look after you if plans need to change for any unforeseen reason. Our refund was also processed very promptly. We would certainly recommend them and hope we get a chance to use them again in the future.
