Unforgettable 2-Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Trek

5 star for the experience- the 2 day trail is beautiful the whole way, you get to see Machu Picchu twice- in the afternoon on the first day from the sun gate/classic view point (when its more likely to be clear skies) and in the morning on the second day when you go for the tour around. 5 star for the guides- Isao was really fantastic- so knowledgeable about the site, history and culture. He was considerate about preserving and not disturbing the site, he was very friendly, helpful and encouraging to everyone, always checking everyone is ok and assuring people to walk at their own pace, helped by the equally fantastic assistant guides Yadira and Romario. The food was great as were the chefs and porters Pedro, Justo and Carlos. Thank you so much to everyone involved. The company was very professional- we had a briefing the night before where they explained everything clearly and at the time we were due to go there was protests to do with the trains- they assured us that incase the train didn't go there was a plan B so we could still visit Machu Picchu and get back to Cusco to continue with our onward plans. The only reason we gave a 4 star review was we chose the camping option instead of the hotel- we thought we would be camping in a nice natural setting. But the campsite was quite scruffy, next to a train track and a night club so it was noisy, we slept in tents on concrete under a roof and its more expensive than the hotel by $25 pp then you have to rent sleeping bags and air mats too. Camping would be our preferred option for this kind of experience, just hopefully they change the location or something.

Amazing hike through the mountains on the the first day, ending at macchu pichu, which was incredible. Tour guide Nilton was great, very knowledgeable, easy to understand, couldn't have been better. Food on the trek is lovely, a truly fantastic day. Second day involves a short tour around macchu pichu, 2.5 hours, great but short activity. With nothing else on Day 2, this could be more involved. But a great experience overall with a fantastic guide, would thoroughly recommend if you want to trek to macchu pichu without doing a longer trek.

Nilton Quispe Quispe was my amazing tour guide for Machu Picchu. He was informative and humorous throughout and our group of 11 got to hear about history, scenery and take stunning photos! The 2D 1N tour included a lunch nested in the Andes mountains, local cuisine cooked on the spot by chefs. I highly recommend this experience with Nilton.

Overall very good trip, slightly expensive but tour guide Nilton is very knowledgeable and informative More time at machu picchu on the second day would be nice

What an amazing experience this has been! Alpaca Expedition was highly recommend by my friend and oh boy was she right. Machu Picchu has been on my bucket list for the longest time. Our tour guide, Isao, was wonderful and so knowledgeable. I learned so much about the Inkan history from him. He was with us the entire journey from Cusco to Machu Picchu. He was attentive and ensure everyone has a good time during the 2D/1N short inca trail! The hike was difficult but so worth it! The lunch on the hike was unbelievablely delicious.Thanks to Isao for making this trip so memorable!

Such an amazing experience! Beautiful views and a great way to see Machu Picchu. Isao was an excellent tour guide. Very friendly and passionate about his work. The food on the hike was delicious and fresh. The chefs did a great job!

The tour/trip was fantastic - they took care of everything! Isao was our guide and he was incredible; super knowledgable and friendly (and a great photographer if you need him to take your photo!). The hike up to Machu Picchu was fairly hard, but we were able to take as many breaks as we needed, so we got there in the end! The lunch in the middle of the hike was delicious. And the views we got of the mountains and Machu Picchu were worth it. We were able to see Machu Picchu twice as a result of this tour - once at the end of the hike (you end the hike at Machu Picchu), and then again the next day. Totally recommend this tour.
