It was an excellent evening visiting a number of bars to try local wines/ cider and a range of pintxo. The guide was very good -not only taking us a walking tour of parts of the old town as we visited various bars but sharing information about Basque customs more generally. The evening served as a fantastic introduction to San Sebastián

We were two couples and we were joined by two other couples. Our guide was amazing. The people that we were with were great fun. However, the tour is astoundingly overpriced. We paid $1100 Canadian for food and wine at the bars/ restaurants advertise price would’ve been less than $400.00 the guy gave us graded information but not $700 worth. I would suggest that you just wander around the area and forget about using this company as I feel that they have found the golden goose and they’re trying to milk it. I’m not sure that you can milk a goose, but they are trying.

We are two couples who paid $1100 Canadian for a three hour food tour. Our guide was wonderful. We had six stops which included one with cheesecake two with eggs and vegetables one with sliced sausage. There were no reserve tables, which was not a problem but if you add up the value of the food and drink that was consumed, we paid $800 for a three hour tour over and above the cost of food and cider. The city is wonderful. The atmosphere is amazing. Our guide was great, but the price was absurd and I would recommend you find somewhere else to get a guide or do it by yourself.

My partner and I spent two days in San Sebastián, and this food tour was an absolute standout—easily one of our favorite experiences in all of Spain. We did the tour on our first evening in the city, and it was the perfect way to dive into the local culture and cuisine. There were six of us total—three couples—and we completely lucked out with an amazing group of fellow food and wine lovers who were all open to trying anything. The real gem, however, was our guide, Maria. Born and raised in San Sebastián, Maria was not only incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her city and its food, but also warm, engaging, and truly a joy to be around. She took us to pintxos bars where the locals go, including one where her grandmother meets her friends weekly—how special is that? Each spot had its own specialty, and every single dish we tried was phenomenal. We also got to choose from beer, wine, or txakoli at each stop, which paired perfectly with the food. This wasn't just a food tour—it was an authentic, intimate glimpse into the heart of San Sebastián. If you're visiting and love great food, local culture, and connecting with people, I wholeheartedly recommend this tour—especially with Maria as your guide.

Fun and informative way to sample San Sebastián’s food scene. Veronica, our local guide, was a mine of information and made the evening very enjoyable. We were able to ‘skip the queue’ everywhere we went and tasted delicious pinxtos and lovely Spanish wines to match. It made for a great introduction to the city.

Had the best time on the pintxos tour. Kai was absolutely amazing and made the experience for us. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try the most famous pintxos as kai gave us local knowledge on what was worth trying and we skipped all the queues!

The tour with Almudena was a blast! Old Town can be overwhelming and very busy. I highly recommend going with a local guide. Got us into places we would have never been able to on our own. We learned a few Basque words and the locals really appreciated that we tried to communicate with them. We me a great couple on the tour and spent the rest of our trip hanging out with them! 10/10 Tour!!

Delicioso! Kai was amazing. Such great knowledge of Basque gastronomía and culture. Excellent choices. Food was delicious and so many options (1-3 dishes each + wine/cider x 5 stops). Definitely a recommended tour when you’re in San Sebastián. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We had an amazing time on our pintxo tour with Almudena! The food was consistently delicious, and the drink pairings were spot-on. Almudena was incredibly knowledgeable—not just about the local cuisine, but also about Basque language, history, and daily life. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Thank you!

Took a Devour tapa tour last year, and we did exactly what the write-up said they were going to do, go to famous Tapas places, wade in and have tapas and wine/vermouth etc., while being given local history. I have a solid list of terrific places that has already come in handy several times. Here in Bilbao it was much more expensive, and there was little I'd call a Pintxo from a famous restaurant. We feel overcharged, but at the same time we were shown a lot of very good things. The problem was that most of those were the kind of things you'd get on a free chamber of commerce walking tour. Here's the rub: Almudena was a fascinating person who took us to the kind of places a local booster would - authentic Basque souvenir shop, authentic Basque cheeses, authentic Basque candies, authentic Basque art, the grocery store her family owns - and shared handwritten notes - she had pages of notes on things Basque. She took us past kids diving, where the kids dived for coins. We threw coins, of course. We ate (plain but tasty) beef on a kebab stick while we watched kids play soccer outside. The pours were very generous. The first course was a very excellent fancy tortilla from Antonios with cider; second was a pepper filled with very average tuna fish with a bit of diced pickle and white wine from Sirimiri; third was a crab mixture in a pastry cup from Ganbara; fourth, beef on a skewer from Txvleta with a red I have in my notes, and last was Basque cheesecake from La Vina with sherry. I am no expert on things Basque; I was hoping to learn from these restaurants, and from that perspective the tour lacked.
