Unforgettable San Sebastian E-bike: Basque History & Culture

A wonderful introduction to San Sebastián - location, history and culture. Our guide was knowledgeable and the e bike a great way to see all this city has to offer.

We had an amazing tour with Lorenzo. He had so much history of the city and region and really was extremely informative.

Our guide Lorenzo was excellent. Very knowledgable about San Sabastian and Basque history. Gave lots of tips about good places to eat and visit. We’ve done other city ebike tours and Lorenzo is the best guide we’ve had.

If you like riding a bike and touring a city with a guide who can present great information (history, restaurants, drinks) while making it fun at the same time, then you shouldn’t miss this opportunity. Lorenzo, our guide was an absolute delight. He is both informative and so easy to understand as he speaks excellent English. It certainly was the highlight of our stay in San Sebastián.

Jacob was enthusiastic and highly informative. The cycling was easy but gave us the ability to see the many areas of Doniesta. He gave a good outsiders view of the passion and politics that have formed Basque culture and history

Jake was our guide . He was extremely knowledgeable, charismatic and humorous. We had a great group too . A mix of aussies, Americans and English people. Good bunch . Highly recommended Jake . Top bloke

I’ve taken many guided tours over the years, and I must say that Jacob was the best tour guide I ever had. He was entertaining and delivered the facts and history in a non-boring way (his theater/improv background obviously helped!), and what he presented wasn’t bogged down with too many details or minutia. He gave a great and interesting/entertaining overview—history with cultural references and relatable perspective, which not many other tour guides do (or do well). If you had further questions and wanted to dig a little deeper about something, he totally had a wealth of information to provide to answer anything. Ok, enough about Jake! But it was he who made this tour amazing and not just “great.” The tour itself: e-bikes, easy and safe to ride, many picturesque stops, and plenty of time for photos, etc. It’s the best way to get a lay of the land in San Sebastián and so I recommend that you do this tour on your first full day there because of that. Jake also gave recommendations on places to go and best places to eat, as he’s been living in San Sebastián for the past 7 years. He even sent out an email afterward with info on these places. A++++ tour. Sidebar: Don’t make the mistake of eating at pintxos bars that operate like delis with pre-prepared foods in display cases that are microwaved to make hot. Terrible! Be sure to go to ones that have a full back kitchen with cooked-to order hot food. Atari, for example, was amazing — duck liver (foil gras), beef cheeks, bao buns, etc.
