Athens: Thermal Spa & Poseidon's Temple Private Odyssey

This day trip is well worth the time and money! Harry was an outstanding host to myself and my mother, welcoming us warmly and going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. He told us so much about Greek history and culture that we wouldn't have found anywhere, and he was an absolute credit to our experience. Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon have some brilliant views and a lovely insight in the history of Athens due to its status as an old sentry point overlooking the sea. As we booked the morning trip, we arrived at Cape Sounion just as the temple opened, resulting in us being the first in with no queues and amazing photo opportunities. There is also a lovely cafe just outside the temple for small bites to eat and drink. Only water is allowed in the temple itself, so this was a good touch. Lake Vouliagmeni is gorgeous, but got busier as the morning went on. There are small fish in the lake that nibble at the skin, and the lake is known as the only place in the world you can find a type of flower. The lake was 24C at approximately 12pm in late October, and was a delight to swim in. After the main attractions, we were given the option to go to lunch in Vouliagmeni but as we had eaten, we didn't feel the need. However, throughout the day as we spoke with Harry and he told us about different places within Athens, we spoke about places we had yet to go see. He offered to drive us to two additional locations for photos despite the busy Athens traffic, one of which we had planned for saving us some time, and another we would not have had knowledge of without Harry's expertise. We had an amazing view of all of Athens, before he drove us back and treated us to ice cream. All in all, an incredible trip with an incredible guide. 100% recommend if you're going to Athens!

Dimitris was a great driver and arrived punctually at our tour start. He provided many details about Athens and information about the lake and Poisiden’s temple. We had lunch at an authentic tavern after a relaxing morning at the beautiful lake. Well worth it and enjoyed the day outside of Athens seeing special spots

This is definitely a tour you must book when you are visiting Athens and Greece. It is a unique day adventure you will always remember. Giorgos was our host and chauffeur. He was attentive and helpful from start to end and careful on the road. Be sure to use WhatsApp to ensure ease of pick up and when to move on to the next part of the adventure. The winding road to the temple passed by many small villages and great overlook photo opportunities. We were given the opportunity to visit Poseidon's Temple first to allow for the skies and waters to warm for our late morning swim. The Temple is a must see, a national treasure and compares to the Acropolis in Athens. Afterwards, our 2 hours at Lake Vouliagmeni was breath taking. The time there provided plenty of opportunity to swim the warm thermal waters and relax at the water's edge with a cocktail. The Lake is limited to only 300 people, so definitely reserve entrance tickets and your chairs or cabanas well in advance directly on the Lake Vouliagmeni website. The Lake has a large staff of waiters and lifeguards to assist making this very much a spa resort experience. Afterwards, we stopped for an extended family style lunch at Τρύπια Βάρκα (the Leaky Boat) on Παραλία Καβούρι (Kavouri Beach), a family run secret with the most authentic food and the most friendly staff. We were treated like family. This is the place to not only experience real traditional plates sitting next to the scenic beach and sea, but to lose oneself for a couple hours as if you are residing there fulltime. Giorgos was very knowledgeable and informative throughout the tour.

Melina was a great hostess and Driver. It was great we were picked up from our Airbnb which was in Alimos outside of Athens. She had txt us the night before to confirm our pickup time and what to bring for out trip to the Lake etc. We had a great experience at the lake and felt very refreshed after our swim. We proceeded to The Temple of Posideon with stops along the way for photos. Melina was very knowledgeable and knew her history very well which added to out trip. Temple of Posideon was spectacular and has amazing views. We stopped on way back at a fabulous fish restaurant The 4 Brothers where we had a delicious meal with the most tasty fish highly recommended 😋

Jason was pur tpur guide he was great! We had a great day. But I will say if you have a thing about fish... the lake may not be your thing. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a ton of little fish nibbling on you. The lake was beautiful and very nice resort. The temple was easy to hike and beautiful. Very windy. Jason took us to an amazing Greek restaurant that was not touristy. Authenticate, with great food. Then he took us on a side trip for a stop we wanted to make on the way back it was so nice. Great day and worth it.

Lovely places and amazing experience! The Lake is a beautiful picture! The Poisedon Temple is amazing! Mr. George is a very kind person, who drived to us and shown to us the main places to visit em Athena

Anthony was very knowledgeable and patient. Very punctual. Gave us a lot of information about the Greek culture. He gave us some good ideas for another trip back to Greece.
