Epic Sahara Dunes Quest: Agadir to Merzouga & Marrakech

The driver was speeding, texting on his phone and making telephone calls while driving. We did not feel safe so we asked him to slow down three times without success, the third time he got upset. Besides this, on the first day he told us that he had to work the day before in Marrakesh and had to drive through the night to collect us: he had only one hour of sleep in his car and had to drive all day with us. But not all is to blame on him: this trip is not made for three days with one driver. The distances are too big so he was struggling to do it all in time. We therefore also missed e.g. the Atlas studio. The last day we drove from 9 am till 9 pm with only 4 small stops... Positive: the Riad of the first night was great and so was the camel ride, the night in the dessert and the Gorges and of course the scenery along the road!

I WISH I COULD RATE THIS WITH 10 STARS!!!!! Driver Yassir went above and beyond my expectations as a tour guide. First his picked my friend and I up from our hotel and guided us to the car we would be taking. As soon as the ride started Mu’Stapha was full of energy and excited to get to know all of his guests. Through the day he gave all guests multiple opportunities to get amazing pictures. The first stop at the Taroudant, Taznakhet, Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Skoura Oasis, the desert landscapes are really beautiful, the hotel was very clean and the people are friendly, we had a private bath the thing that made us very happy, the food is very good the Berber in the desert was adorable, and very well organized, but think of equipping yourself with appropriate shoes. A wonderful walk with a Berber guide to the kasbah of Ben Haddou, as well as the big sand dunes in the Merzouga desert is a truly incredible magic. In the second day after breakfast, we visited the valley of roses, the Dades valley, Todra and Merzouga gorges and we stoped to see beauty products made locally from the abundant roses of the valley . We visited the valley of the thousand kasbahs, visited Tinghir of the local plam and the Todra Gorge, then crossed the oasis of Rissani, Erfoud and Tafilalte to reach Merzouga. The camels cleared to join the camp and admire the sunset on the huge sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, we passed under a nomadic traditional tent, with a surprising Berber musical show while watching the beginning and the nascent moon in the magnificent Sahara. On the third day we will visit Merzouga, Rissani, Alnif, the Drâa Valley - Agdez-Mont Ait Saouen and Marrakech. After sunrise and breakfast, we took the road to Marrakech through the rocky desert and the Draa Valley, the largest valley of Morocco with a hedge of palm trees, then we continued our journey through the charming mountains of Aït Saouen and the High Atlas vres Marrakech.
