Ketchikan is the Southern-most settlement on the Alaskan Peninsula (a narrow strip of land South of Juneau – the State Capital). The town is only a couple of blocks deep and all of the streets carry both English and the native Saxman language. This city is the 1st City as you cross the Canadian border into Alaska and is known as the “Salmon Capital of the World.” It has salmon processing plants in town that you can tour as well as purchase their products there. In addition, there is the Saxman Native Village with its “longhouse,” totem poles, and a working carpentry shop where totems and other native artifacts are carved. The site also has a gift shop on site. Both the canneries and native village are worthwhile visiting.

Our guide Ava was wonderful. She was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain answers to any questions any of us had.

It was a great tour. Ava really told about the history and used her life experience to give us the best tour

We had an amazing time with Ketchikan All in One Tour (this review was long overdue!) Shane was a fantastic guide—informative and engaging at every stop. Highlights included salmon runs, bear sightings, tide pool and eagle sightings at the beach. We also learned a lot about Totem poles from Shane. We’d do it all again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Ketchikan All in One!

Nice experience. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see any bears, but the tour-guide really tried her best to find one. One thing was missing though: there were no water bottles offered to us despite the description of this tour stated it would be included.

Small group with lots of interaction with the guide, who was extremely knowledgeable. Unfortunately we did not see any Bears.

Our tour guide was Ava. She was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun. We didn’t get to see any bears but she tried very hard to make it happen. We did see deer, a bald eagle and some seals. Maybe if we’d done an earlier tour that day the bears would have been hungry? Awesome tour. Would do it again!

Shane was awesome. He knew everything we asked about, was super fun, and definitely knew his stuff. He knew exactly where to look for the bears, Eagles, and was a really nice guy.
