Minitrekking Perito Moreno - Ice hiking from El Calafate

Breathtaking!!! One of the greatest experiences of my life. Walking in ice is something wortj while and the views are like none other. Instructors and guide were excellent, they went above and beyond to help us and be sure that we were secure.

It's once in a lifetime experience, the guides Joaquin and Gabriel were very knowledgeable and made the trek fun. The whiskey at the end is the cherry on top.

Truly amazing and unreal experience, that will be hard to find anywhere else in the world. Guides were great, and it was fantastic all the way through. It is expensive, but once in a lifetime.

This was an incredible experience and very worth it! Everything went seamlessly and felt like a private tour even though we were broken up into small groups. They were coordinated the full tour from beginning to end and ensured we saw the best of the best !

We loved our minitrekking tour of Perito Moreno. We were picked up on time and during the drive Veronica introduced our tour group to the area. Veronica was very helpful and informative. We first stopped and took pictures at a glacier viewing point and then were driven to an area with several walkways overlooking the glacier. We didn’t have enough time to walk all the trails there, but appreciated what we did see, including a number of times when we saw and heard the thunderous sound of the glacier calving with pieces of the glacier breaking off into the water. Next we took a boat bringing us nearer to the glacier. From there we ate lunch and met another set of guides, Ezekiel and Waldo, who walked with us for about 30 minutes to the glacier itself. Ezekiel and Waldo were a great team, very helpful and genuinely funny. At the foot of the glacier we stopped to put the provided crampons over our hiking boots and then we walked around for a while on the glacier itself . We hiked up the glacier, around crevices, and up some of the passes present there that day. It was amazing! Then we walked back to the boat and to the bus to go back to the hotel. There were some complications with our experience though that caused considerable frustration and stress. The confirmation note of our booking said that they would pick us up between 7am to 3pm, contacting us with the exact time by 7pm the night before the tour ... so we wouldn’t know until then if we would have time in the morning or in the evening for other activities. I almost didn’t book this tour because of that. To make it harder, at 7 pm on the night before the tour we still had not been informed of the pickup time, and the tour company listed in my booking was about to close. We ran to their office and they could not find our booking. Their entire office stopped what they were doing to help and finally found that the tour was booked by a different company (Howlanders) than was listed and sent to me. Then I had to quickly run to another shop before they closed to claim my reservation and know what time the tour would start. (Thanks to the Ryan’s Travel team in El Calafate for sorting that out!!) The tour was awesome. Docking the score a point for the bad booking experience though.

It’s a complete tour. You see glaciers from boat, trek the glacier and walk the pasarelas to see panoramic view of Perito Moreno.

Excellent tour. Don’t miss it. It takes about 3.5 hours in total. Louise was very informative and helpful.

Very nice experience with great support from the instructors. The view is amazing and the drinks at the end are nice.
