Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching & Mendenhall Glacier
This wildlife viewing excursion takes you on a journey to see two of the major highlights in Southeast Alaska. You will be guided to the Mendenhall Glacier for a 45 minute self-exploration followed by our wildlife whale watching tour. Once you have had a chance to explore the glacier park on your own, we will take you to the whale watching harbor where you will come aboard one of our state-of-the-art vessels to search for majestic Humpback Whales and other water wildlife we may find along the way. Our expert captains and naturalists are so familiar with these amazing creatures that we can actually guarantee you will see whales in their natural habitat from a safe distance. Our boats are equipped with restrooms and heated cabins to make this journey extra comfortable. Our fleet of fast jet boats all have plenty of outdoor deck space so you can choose to watch the wildlife in the open air or from the comfort of the cabin. This is an Alaskan adventure you won't want to miss!

Our group of four had the best time whale watching with Alaska Tales. We were guaranteed to see whales, and they didn’t disappoint! Michelle, Sophie, and Kacie were fun and knowledgeable, explaining everything from whale behavior to regulations concerning whales. You could tell they absolutely love their jobs! Our bus driver was great, too. He pointed out eagles and bears as he drove us from spot to spot. We all enjoyed our time and would definitely do an excursion with Alaska Tales again!

Had a great time with both the glacier and whale watching tours. The whales was the best of the two as the ladies that guided us were great and we got to see both humpback whales and Orcas.

a neat excursion where we went to see the Mendenhall Glacier, and then went whale watching. the bus driver was engaging and had a lot of stories to tell; Greg, Monica, and Genevieve were our crew for the tour, and they were very knowledgeable and engaging; we were able to see several whales, including a baby whale, and got to see some seals lounging on a buoy as a bonus

What an amazing tour. James, Wil & Kacie made us have the most amazing day! Loved seeing the orcas. Kacie & Wil were super knowledgeable and made us have an absolutely great day. They kept us full of snacks and water and made sure we saw humpbacks and orcas. Overall it was an absolutely amazing day! We can't recommend enough!

We did this excursion with Daniel Bauer and Cap. Kent Ryals of Gastineau Guiding. It was an excellent day. We had a nature walk, multiple views of Mendenhall glacier, and the highlight was the Whale Watching voyage. We saw many whales and I was able to capture a photo of a breaching whale. The views were gorgeous. Our guide was excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this excursion.

I can honestly say, this tour was amazing! Michelle, Monica and Morgan were delightful and unbelievable informative! Personality plus!!!! We saw so many whales, they poked the heads out of the water, their tails were so graceful, entering the water! The boat was warm and extremely comfortable. You could go outside and enjoy the whales from the deck. If you wanted to watch them from inside you could do that too! Thank you for such an amazing experience!
