Nocturnal adventure Glow-worm tour

Steve made our Glow Worm Adventure a truly magical and memorable highlight of our trip to New Zealand! Right from the start, in his van when he picked us up, he was engaging and entertaining with stories, information and personal insights. He equipped us with powerful flashlights and led us into the deep forest on well maintained trails. He was always mindful of pointing out roots and branches so the walk was quite comfortable. But the star of the adventure is the sighting of the Glow Worms! We lucked out and saw many in the pitch black forest - just amazing! Again, Steve was full of educational information and personal anecdotes as he had us stop at specific spots, turn off our lights and marvel at the natural beauty. We can't say enough positive things about this entire experience and highly recommend it for anyone who loves nature and wants to experience the Glow Worms up close & personal!

This tour was excellent. Stephen is a great tour guide who loves sharing his knowledge about the forest, the glow worms, other animals and plants. You can also see how much he enjoys his job. The photos he takes of you are also of outstanding quality. I highly recommend this tour and give it five stars.

An unforgettable night tour through a forest of indigenous vegetation, where Stephen helped us to discover native trees and encounter fascinating wildlife. The experience culminated in pure wonder as we marvel at a constellation of glowworms! MAGICAL! Tip: wear comfortable shoes for walking in the woods.

This tour felt like walking through a dream. A quiet forest, darkness all around, and only the thin beam of a flashlight to guide us. Our guide Steven led us with ease and creativity, especially when we reached a waterfall where he arranged lights like an artist painting with shadow and glow. And then the glowworms. They shimmered overhead like constellations, as if the night sky had folded itself beneath the trees. It was peaceful, surreal, and absolutely beautiful. Hot chocolate and shortbread back at the van sealed the night like the final note of a song. A truly unforgettable experience. Thank you, Steven!

An overall excellent tour with Stephen. He accommodated our multi-generation family group of 8. We have done almost everything there is to do in Rotorua (including Waitomo Caves) and this was the top of the list. The sunset over the lake, the glowworms, ferns and possum, and the constellations were all a huge treat. Stephen's knowledge is first-rate and he paces the tour perfectly. Do no miss this!

Great experience with our guide Steve on our hike to see the glow worms! He was so knowledgeable and made sure we all got photos. Loved that he also packed hot chocolate and cookies for after the hike.

This activity was fantastic, our whole family was speechless and in awe of the knowledge Stephen presented during the night and the experience of the walk was refreshing at night time , seeing all the glow worms up close in person was the coolest thing. Our family highly recomend this activity. Steven is also fantastic taking awesome photo's during the night . The hot choc at the end looking up at all the stars was a lovely way to finish up our activity also. Stephen is an amazing host of this tour.

Our guide Steve, provided a tour that was educational, beautiful and thoughtful. From the moment we stepped into the tour van, through to our return, Steve was a wealth of information and humour. Respect for the nature, our safety, and the land owners was paramount. The worms did not disappoint. A jaw dropping experience. And to top it off, he staged us for some artistic night photos by a roaring waterfall. Wow!

This nighttime walking tour was fantastic--a unique, wonderful way to see glow worms, waterfalls, local flora, wildlife, and insects in an intimate and comfortable setting. Steven, an extremely knowledgeable tour guide, took care of everything from start to finish, including giving us rain boots (if needed) and having the perfect flashlights handy. He assists with and takes incredible photos too. Definitely a highlight of our New Zealand visit!

I can only agree to what everyone has said about this tour. Steve is an absolutely fantastic guide. His enthusiasm, knowledge and his real desire for everyone to learn something while having a great time is obvious. I would highly recommend this tour. I almost forgot the hot chocolate that he serves at the end off the tour. What a treat!!
