Food & Markets Tour

Would give guide more stars if possible. We tasted local foods and drinks with interesting stories of their origins. Also shared what Day of the Dead meant to families and how they remember their loved in different personal ways. Made it so much more personal.

Fun way to spend an afternoon in Oaxaca! Knowledgeable guide and good food. Small group made the time go quickly!

Myself and my husband had the most incredible experience with Alicia during our stay in Oaxaca. Alicia, who speaks excellent English, has a wealth of knowledge around food as well as historical and cultural information. We throughly enjoyed going through the markets with her, sampling food along the way before finally sitting down to a meal together. This gave us the confidence to try new foods and to have the know how when ordering on the street or in the markets, despite our very poor Spanish! Our only regret was that we didn’t do this tour on our first day.

My wife and I had a wonderful time! Alicia was a great leader and we learned much. What a great experience and would highly recommend!!

Definitely recommend this tour if you’re wanting to get your bearings of the city and where to eat and shop. Our guide Alicia was great - engaging, helpful and kind. We were able to get a good sense of the main types of dishes they have here, as well as mezcal and some bakery sweets ! Was definitely full after a few hours of eating so come hungry! We went to two different markets and they have everything - from produce, a butchery, juice bars, clothes, jewelry, and a bunch of food stalls. Great way to start off my trip here, will definitely come back to the markets for authentic cheap eats, a drink or some souvenirs. Ask for Alicia if you can - she was outstanding!

Our tour guide Elizabeth was so knowledgeable and explained both markets, traditions and food. We tasted a very nice variety, learned a lot. She also recommended we visit the are next to church of Soledad to have some of the best nieve. We went there in the evening and really loved it so thank you so much for that recommendation, we went there again last night and we each ordered an even bigger size of nieve.

Coyote was an amazing Guide. Had fun, the Best Food and learnt some real history about oaxaca ;) would totally recommmend
