Borobudur Sunrise From Setumbu Hill, Merapi Volcano, Prambanan one Day Tour

Had A Wonderful and Lovely Trip with My Wife. Budi from JoTou took good care of us while we were in Jogjakarta. He was always punctual respectful, friendly, accommodating and made sure we felt comfortable during our tour. We’re going to miss our daily chit- chat and banter with Budi. Very very highly recommend Budi to all.

To start our relationship with INDOADDICT all we did was send them a list of the sites we were keen to visit and other things we wanted to do, and the time we had available. Almost immediately they emailed back a comprehensive, fair priced, private tour proposal. We accepted it and it worked brilliantly! It had everything to make our visit seamless, comfortable and a memorable and valued experience. We were in the care of Budi (pronounced Boody not Buddy), a very personable, multilingual, young (from our perspective) guide and driver whose English language was excellent. His happy and relaxed manner made us feel both welcome and valued. As first time visitors to Java and the Yogyakarta region we had many questions about the places we were visiting as well as more general history, cultural and religious practices, agriculture, industry, politics …. the list goes on…..and which Budi willingly accepted and engaged in, and responded to, with knowledgeable insight. My wife and I had a great time visiting Boroburdu climb up, Merapi volcano and Prambanan private tour. The guide person is awesome( I don’t know how to write his name, so please disregard) , knowledgeable , local expertise and excellent communication. I highly recommended him

Our guide was Vega for the day, and we could have not been luckier with him! He made the tour smooth! We started with Borobodur, and we did not have to stand in line at all, caught the 8:30 guided tour! It was breathtaking! Then thr Jeep tour and finally the Prambanan complex! Between activities we had plenty of time to chill, and Vega told us stories about everyday life in Yogya! We had a blast! We expected a lot from the UNESCO wonders, but this tour made it even better!

The tour guide was really good,. Perfect English and very friendly and knowledgeable guy. We visited the temples and had a Jeep ride to the volcano. It was a really good experience, but be warned. It’s a very long day to fit in two temple sites plus the jeep ride to the volcano. The plus was the guide did a great job. The minus is communication with Viator. The voucher said at 7:30 AM pick up. The guide was told 8 AM pick up so there was confusion there. It turns out the temple does not open till 9 AM so there would be no point in leaving at 7:30 AM . When the guide did not show up at 7:30 AM I tried to contact Viator , but there really is absolutely no way to get a hold of them. There’s no phone number on the voucher and the Viator help section Does not have a link to either call. Email or text them. This would be a real problem had there to been a significant issue. The hotel front desk called the tour operator and we learned that he was instructed to pickup 30 minutes later than the Viator voucher specified.

Vega, our guide, was absolutely fantastic! He was incredibly flexible and shared a wealth of knowledge about the temples and the volcano 🌋, making the experience truly enriching. Not only that, but he went above and beyond by helping us find a train for the next day 🚆 and offering great recommendations for how to spend our evening in Jogja 🌙. We couldn't have asked for a better guide—thank you so much, Vega!

Borobudur climb is tightly managed by the authorities at the site. You may get lucky and get a good local guide at Borobudur with a strong command of English (or not). Merapi was interesting, but if you thought you would be looking into a volcanic caldera, well that's not what this volcano is about. You look at it from about 2 km away and from below. You do see the puffs of smoke coming out of course. The viewing area is a bit dusty, to be expected of course, and a line of local shops hoping to get some tourist money. Prambanan is a highlight, particularly if you get there for sunset. In some ways, this site was more satisfying than Borobudur. We did our tour over 2 days to these sites. I think trying to do it in one day on a hot and humid day would be tiring A good guide will also take you to clean places to eat, which our guide did. The food was excellent and amazing value for money.

What an amazing experience!!! We were lucky enough to have Adit as our local guide today!!! He was not just kind friendly and super funny but also 100 percent reliable Punctual , and we felt safe the whole trip We arranged the pick up for 7:30 and he was already waiting for us outside of our Hotel. Beside the 3 booked locations he additionally took us to a local coffee manufacturer.And afterwards to a real local restaurant. Adit is not just a real local but made us feel like we were his guests. The whole day was a five out of five stars experience!!! And,Adit was The main reason for that. I would recommend him strongly for any activities around this beautiful area of Java.

Our driver for the day was Ilham and he was fantastic! He had great information and great recommendations. I would hope to have him again anytime. The tours were great, it was about 1.5 hours at Borobudur, 1.5 hours at Merapi, and 1.5 hours at Prambanan. We thought that was perfect timing, it was enough to hear the history and see the sights and then keep moving. Overall the day was about 10 hours long.
