Exactly what you want in a water park. Lots of shade, lots of sun, lots of water, lots of rides! An AMAZING day, a much better option on a hot day than Busch Gardens. If you are a veteran go to their website to research discounts. I was able to get three free tickets for being a veteran, but that does vary seasonally.

If you read reviews i encourage you to verify the validity of the reviewer- some ratings seem awfully high compared to my experience, but of course reviewing is very subjective. Overall, i would say this is not a waterpark i would return to unless i was a local. #1- crowds and lines aren’t great. I wasn’t expecting hour-long lines on a random Thursday in August with thunderstorms in the forecast. If that doesn’t bother you, you might be ok. #2- food options aren’t great. Meal plan was a waste for me. Salty, fried food is not my thing. That too, might not bother you. #3- lots and lots of biting bugs. It is VA and in a wooded area, so yeah. I was itching all day. #4- dirty, poopy bathrooms. Every bathroom i went in stunk. Gross #5- quite a few slides were not operational. Cowabunga for the little kids was completely inoperable and drained due to needing a repair. When slides/areas are closed its very frustrating. If none of the above bothers you- you will enjoy your day. The slides are fun—all of them, but i would not drive across 3 states to visit again. There are better, cleaner options closer to my home. just a suggestion… wear slides or water shoes. The concrete gets very hot and tears up the skin on the feet. A lot of hills and a lot of walking.

Early is better, hydrate, get a locker. Make sure you have sunscreen and hat Take your time early arrival means less wait time in line.

We spent a full day at Water Country USA during our Williamsburg vacation, and it ended up being one of the most fun and memorable parts of the trip! Even with a heat index over 110°, the park made it easy to stay cool, comfortable, and entertained from open to close. To beat the heat and make the most of the day, we reserved a private cabana and purchased Quick Queue passes—both of which were totally worth it. The cabana gave us a shady, private space to relax, hydrate, and take breaks, while the Quick Queue allowed us to skip the long lines and ride nearly everything without the usual wait. Just be prepared for the many flights of stairs—we definitely got our steps in! Our group had a great mix of thrill-seekers and laid-back explorers, and the park had something for everyone. Some of us loved the big, fast slides—especially those that flipped and twisted—while others enjoyed the shows, animal encounters, and more relaxed attractions. Even with the extreme temperatures, the park was clean, well-staffed, and well-organized. We took frequent breaks, stayed hydrated, and were pleasantly surprised by how manageable the day felt. We even ended with a final burst of energy—riding eight slides in the last hour alone! As we left the park, one tired but happy voice said, “This was an absolutely amazing day.” And that really says it all. Highly recommend Water Country USA for families and groups—it’s a fun, well-run park that offers a full day of summer fun. We’d absolutely go again!

The place is crowded and not enough staff hired to maintain the running of those facilities. Not as good as expected

The park was not super crowded during our visit, and we barely had enough time to get to all of the attractions. The longest that we waited was 30 minutes for a ride, but several of the attractions that we wanted to ride were closed for the day. In addition to that, most staff members that we talked to did not know where the rides were that we were asking to find. I really enjoyed the lazy river while wearing a life jacket. That was a different way to experience floating! Super unique!

I am an annual passholder and even though I have renewed the pass every year, I had not been to WC in several years. Today I went alone to get some sun and listen to the great music. Unfortunately the music at the Wave pool was so low that I could barely hear it and the Wave pool was not functioning. People were in the pool. but the waves did not operate. After a couple of hours I went to get a drink at Pinky's and decided on a slurpee type. I wanted lemonade, but it was out. So I did a mixture of the others (not my favorites). When I went to pay for it, my mouth dropped open when the employee told me it would be over $8. I showed her my pass for a discount and the price dropped to about $7.40. Insane. For that price, I should have gotten a cup with free refills or at least a big plastic one to take home. This was a standard 16-20 ounce paper cup. When I mentioned that the lemonade was out, the employee just shrugged her shoulders. The park was not overly busy on this Tuesday, and clearly there were not very many employees on staff. When I exited, it appeared that some of the other rides were not running. My advice... fix the rides, turn the music up and lower the food and parking prices. Water Country is nice, but it is not Disney World and does not rate the prices being charged. On a positive note, I was encouraged that they still play the Star Spangled Banner just before opening.

We upgraded to stay at hubba hubba highway which include meals, chairs/umbrellas, and locker for $100 for 2 adults and 3 kids under 5. This was a fun day to relax with small children. Went on a weekday and wasnt that crowded. The water playground and the lazy river was the kids favorite

went on a Thursday - park wasn't too crowed, rides were fun- down side is so many stairs- did not have any food/drinks. Lazy river could use some water features- Hubba bubba highway much better!!

This place is a massive mix of positives and negatives. Let’s start with the positives. There are generally deals available for tickets. Don’t buy on the door. You will usually get 30% for single day tickets online. If you can go more than once, really good deals are available. It is worth going more than once for reasons I will get to. The slides are excellent. There are loads here that are among the best water slides I have ever gone on. You will want more than one go them and there are lots. The park is really big, clean and well maintained. Those are the upsides. Now the downsides. The prices once you arrive. Parking in a standard space is $32. It was hard to find a space even then. Paying for a “large” locker was $30. It was not large. The bigger one was over $40. The food is A) terrible. Cold, tastes like cardboard. B) MASSIVELY expensive. Drinks are also hugely expensive. As a family of be 6 in two cars we dropped over $250 within 30 minutes of arrival to add to the approx $400 for the tickets. Experienced park goers ensured they didn’t need the lockers and food. The lines. These are usually huge and very slow moving when the park is busy. There are a couple of slides that have multiple riders and short turns which mean the line is fast, but mostly they take a very, VERY long time. In addition, staff shortages seem to mean that rides with multiple slides are often not running all the slides, making the lines slower. There are two approaches. Either stump up the money for the unlimited quick queue, which is really expensive, OR what I would advise is be able to go twice. Get the second visit free tickets. Get to the park at around 3. At that time, having been open since 10, it begins to empty out. You will be able to get on the big rides with very minimal queues particularly in the last couple of hours. The park stays open until 8. Arrive post lunch. Leave before dinner. If you do this, you will ride a lot, queue little and minimise the expense. To make it really work though, you need to go twice!
