Hierve el Agua Guided Full Day Tour in Oaxaca

Picked us up at ArBnb on time. Stopped for coffee at a sweet location on way to Tulle Tree - much appreciated. Enjoyed Heivre el Agua. Glad we did the hike - well worth it. The textile family owned business stop was interesting. The group enjoyed the mezcal. The only disappointment was the restaurant. We were not able to order ala carte and had to eat a mediocre buffet that was expensive for the quality of the food. Also, our guide and van driver were five star. Overall an awesome day.

Jam packed day full of many interesting sights and experiences. Our favourite was definitely Hierve el Agua - both the hike and cooling off in the pool after. Be prepared with snacks as lunch is not until the late afternoon. We had a great time.

Zenón was a fantastic guide. He's from the area and was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. Every stop on this all-day tour was just excellent. He even made an extra stop at a bakery so we could get a coffee on our way out of Oaxaca. The buffet lunch was underwhelming. The owners should consider finding an alternative.

The tour guides did a perfect job. Both were very knowledgeable and were respectful. They looked out for their tourists and I felt it.

We had a great day with Continental Istmo tours. Our driver felt safe and our guide was funny, personable and informative. I had been on a tour to similar attractions 6 years ago, this tour company was better. I 100% recommended this tour.

We received a text from the company before the tour letting us know that the English tour was not available and asking if we spoke Spanish. Although we understand some Spanish, my husband does not, so we decided to go ahead anyway, the tour was part of the reason we decided to visit Oaxaca. The tour itself was beautiful, but not very informative for us since much of the explanation was in Spanish and we couldn’t follow everything that was being said. That being said, the overall experience was wonderful. We got to see the petrified waterfalls and mineral ponds — both absolutely stunning. We also visited a textile factory and enjoyed a Mezcal tasting, which were great experiences. One thing to note is that this tour is very long, lasting about 8–9 hours depending on the group and how timely everyone is. Be prepared for a full day. If you plan to swim in the mineral ponds, definitely bring your swimsuit. The mineral-rich water feels a bit grainy on your skin, but it’s part of the experience. The showers aren’t the best, but they do the job. Overall, despite the language barrier, it was a beautiful and memorable day.
