Tavira Route Boat Tour

Unfortunately the tour lasted 40 minutes rather thn the promised 60 minutes. And there were no binoculers as promised on the website - these would have been so useful to view the birdlife. We were really looking forward to this, but left feeling distinctly underwhelmed

Although we enjoyed sailing along the river from Tavira to Cabanas we only saw flamingos in one part of the journey as the boat was lower than the levees. We saw more flamingos on the Tavira road train and the walk we took to look at them. We were told binoculars would be provided, they weren't, just as well we took our own.

Amazing boat tour, the guide was professional, courteous and friendly. He spoke of the history of the area. A stop in Santa Luzia for a great lunch. I highly recommend the Passeios Ria Formosa.

We booked the 4hr boat trip from Cabanas de Tavira starting at 11am (Octopus Route). The skipper, Phillip, was excellent, really informative, genuinely interesting with a great sense of humour! He gave us lots of interesting facts along the way.... some delivered with a cheeky hint of sarcasm 😆 We had a nice stop in Santa Luzia before moving on to the island and he got us as close to the flamingos as possible before returning to Cabanas. Thanks Phillip for a lovely trip!

It was an amazing experience. The crew was very knowledgeable about the area, pointing out a mixture of history of the area and other areas as well and the beautiful beaches. Lunch in Santa Luzia at the Octopus Restaurant was delicious. The whole experience was amazing and the service was premier. I highly recommend Passeios Ria Formosa boat tours.

We took the one hour trip from Cabanas to Tavira. The skipper (Phillipe) was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. He explained the history and gave lots of local interesting information about the area and the fishing industry. Highly reccommended.

We booked this boat tour not really knowing what to expect. When we arrived a very friendly staff member brought us down to the boat. However upon arriving at the boat we had to climb over the side to get in. As I have arthritis and use a stick I found this impossible. I thought I was going to have to miss the trip and just let my other family members go, but the Captain was able to provide a step for me and I was in the boat and we were off!! The water was so calm (except when a speed boat went past), the views were amazing and our Captain was very friendly and helpful. Well worth it and definitely recommend it.

A fantastic couple of hours - it was great to see the area and learn more. We were lucky to be the only passengers ….. a real treat. Thanks Miguel
