Nagasaki Peace Park and Atomic Bomb Museum

Get to the Peace park via public tram 150 yen per adult from Nagasaki railway station. Sobering and thoughtful day. Escalators available

Tim was our tour guide and met my husband and I promptly at the cruise port in Nagasaki. He had tram tickets ready for us and we proceeded to the Peace park and museum. Tim is from the USA and has lived in Nagasaki for a year and knows his way around Nagasaki and to the tourists. He took us to see a few things in the peace park like the air raid bunkers and the river area that a cruise tour didn’t go to see. The museum was very good and a must see. He also took us to the city hall to the 19th floor observatory to get a Birds Eye view of the city and then accompanied us back to the ship. Tim was a wonderful tour guide, very personable and we definitely recommend Tim and this tour!

Impresionante estatua. Nos hace pensar sobre lo cruel que es la guerra. Es un lugar de paz y armonía. De esperanza. Miles de turistas se sacan fotos y luego de algunos minutos se van. Recomiendo estar por lo menos media hora para reflexionar. Pero lo pintoresco es que a un costado está un joven vendedor de helados, que hace el helado en forma de Rosa. Si, núnca lo había visto. El no habla inglés ni lo entiende, pero tiene una sonrisa que nos devuelve la esperanza y nos renueva la fe en el ser humano.
