Half day dhow cruise to the Fjords of Musandam

During our recent trip to Musandam, among a flood of options for the Half-day Dhow cruise, we opted for the one by Dolphin Khasab Tours, based on the reviews we had read. This was one of the best decisions we took. I booked the tour only the previous evening, but the tour company was very helpful in arranging pick up and drop to and from our hotel and in answering our queries. On the morning of the cruise, we were picked up on time and taken to the port, from where we boarded the dhow. The dhow had 2 levels and was surprisingly for us, not too crowded, so we had plenty of space and travelled in comfort. We started for the Fjords and passed some beautiful rock faces and came across some hidden beaches, accessible only by sea. The highlight of the cruise were the beautiful dolphins, whom we got to see from two different points. It was surreal, watching them swim next to our boat. We then, passed through some old, isolated villages till we arrived at the Telegraph Island. The water here was crystal clear, with colorful fish all around us. Most people in our dhow had a swim, but we missed out this time. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and offered us a selection of fruits, coffee, juice and drinks to keep us hydrated during the trip. The facilities for shower, swimming etc were top notch. After a wonderful time at sea, we made the return journey taking in the sights of the fjords again. We had a wonderful experience with Dolphin Khasab Tours and will love to avail of their services again next time we are in Musandam.

This was an amazing morning spent out at sea. From my driver Ahmad collecting me on time, getting me to the departure point and then once I got onto the dhow the captain Mohammed and his sailing mate were really friendly and I had the dhow to myself (there was another booking but they didn’t make it) I thought with one person they would cancel but they didn’t. The whole half day tour was amazing. There were loads of dolphins who swam right up by the boat and the crew were really knowledgeable about the area. The crew provided me with fresh fruit and soft drinks as and when I wanted. I would totally recommend this to anyone coming to Musandam.

The dhow was great and we saw the dolphins. I made to this company a link payment for the amount of money they requested. Their website got stuck and never sent to my email any confirmation. They had a problem with their bank to receive the money so they made me pay again on my arrival to Khassab by credit card. Now, they received the link payment amount from their bank and they are not proceeding with the reimbursement. Meaning I've paid double. They don't even answer the phone. Be careful with them!

The overall tour was great: nice ship with restroom, plenty of swimming break - and most importantly lots of dolphin sightings! The only downside was the extreme late arrival of some guests (which was never properly adressed...) which caused a delay for the tour of 60+ minutes which kind of sucks when you get up early yourself to be on-time.

We had such a good time on the half-day dhow tour. The tour company was excellent. I would highly recommend this trip.

I booked this 3 hr half day tour as it was so well reviewed. We were in Khasab for one day off a cruise. Believe me, there is NOTHING to do in Khasab other than a tour outside of it! We saw plenty of dolphins, we swam in the sea and the weather was perfect. The guys who run the tour are first class. Very attentive, get plenty of soft drinks, fruit and tea or coffee. Best 3 hrs we invested in during our 7 day cruise.

A great day from start to finish! We arrived at the tour office just before 9am, had a friendly welcome and sorted payment quickly. We were on the boat and setting off by 9.20am. The tour guide & captain were incredibly helpful, from carrying the boys to the boat, to being friendly, helpful, informative and safety conscious. They were amazing with our 3.5yr old and 1.5yr old, and our friends 2 boys the same age. The captain let the. boys have a go at steering the boat which they loved, the guide was super friendly with the boys, cutting up fruit for them and offering them juice. We were lucky enough to what seemed like an endless supply of dolphins. It was Great! We would highly recommend the tour and can't fault the experience at all. Thanks again.

Beautiful landscapes. Very nice crew. Saw and played with a familly of dolphins…amazing experience. Highly recommended!

Didn't expect to see so many dolphins. Swimming at the fjord with corals was also unforgatablle (don't forget to take your swimming glasses or mask with you). Highly recommended
