Private Sunset Tour of Cape Sounion, Temple of Poseidon & Athens Riviera

Eight of us took this tour so we had two vehicles, with Dimitirius (‘Jimmy’) and ‘Billy’ (I can’t remember his actual Greek name) as our drivers. It was fantastic. We got to the temple just before sunset, and had a fun time getting photos. After, Dimitri knew we wanted a steak dinner, so we were brought to a fantastic restaurant where we were treated like special guests, and the food was absolutely the best! It happened to also be my birthday, so before we left the restaurant Billy, Dimitri and the restaurant manager (owner?) came over to the table with a birthday cake and candle, and everyone sang happy birthday. It was so special!!! I would recommend this trip for the amazing scenery along, but certainly the special treatment made it one of the highlights for our entire group!

Great trip up the coast to see Temple of Poseidon. Dinner on the water at sunset was perfect. Perfect after a long day if air travel.

The sunset tour of the Temple of Poseidon was phenomenal. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. The sunset was gorgeous. Afterward, our guide recommended a traditional Greek dinner that was fantastic, very authentic, and fun. We liked him so much- he took us to the airport with another sightseeing spot along the way. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the area!

George was a very reliable driver, spoke English well, and was a wealth of historical knowledge. Cape Sounion and the sunset at Poseidons Temple was spectacular. He also recommend Zorba’s, an excellent restaurant in a small elegant harbor in Pareaus. 4 stars because he did talk *too* much and went towards politics too much.

Dimitri (driver) was great. He got us to the Temple of Poseidon in a timely manner and even stopped at a couple locations along the way to allow us to take some additional pictures. On our way back, he even took us to the airport to pick up the luggage that was misplaced by the airline for our travel companions. He then took us to the most wonderful location for a very late dinner but the food was fantastic. Highly recommend this tour and Dimitri to anyone else.

Best part of trip. Terry was knowledgeable, friendly, funny and intelligent. This was our last night of our trip and he helped make it memorable

Giannis made our anniversary and birthday trip to Athens quite memorable. From the sparkling wine and chocolates in the car upon his arrival, to the engaging conversation and pride in his work, we enjoyed the entire trip. Take Giannis' advice for the meal on the shoreline, farther from the Poseidon's Temple. He also takes wonderful photos to commemorate the visit. There is no need for him to go with you into the site, as it quite self-explanatory. Be ready with Euros, as the credit card machine at the Temple did not work on our visit. Thank you Giannis! We had a fantastic time during our tour to the Temple of Poseidon. Our guide Dimitri, was fun, informative and engaging. Our kids really enjoyed talking to him about Greek mythology. To top it all off, he took us to a great family style restaurant where the food and treats were fantastic. It was the perfect start to our Greek vacation.

Our driver Thomas was fabulous. He was informative and friendly. We made two quick stops along thw way to view sites and take pictures. There isn'tmuch to see, just the Temple but the views make it a must see, in ny opnion. We spent a sufficient amount of time at the temple walking around, enjoying the beauty and taking pictures. The view is amazing, and the sunset, even on a cloudy day was beautiful. We had dinner on our way back at a family owned resturant with a lovely view of the sea. We enjoyed this tour and I'm am so glad we took it.

So glad we found Ancient Greece Tours. We were a party of two couples that booked a gorgeous 5hr sunset tour to Cape Sounion visiting the magnificent temple of Poseidon. It was wonderful. Our driver was Yannis who was just superb. The Mercedes van was luxurious and comfortable with all the special amenities. Yannis made several stops at some wonderful photographic spots and beaches along the way to Cape Sounion and we still arrived at Cape Sounion with plenty of time to tour the site and watch the glorious sunset behind the Poseidon Temple. After the tour, Yannis took us to a wonderful sea-side restaurant in Vouliagmeni called Garbi. The fresh grilled fish served all of us generously and was delicious. Highly recommend this experience with this company.
