Canoeing on the Elbe river + Bike rental from Děčín to Bad Schandau

Great experience environmentally. Beautiful rivers, forests, and big birds. Little ones very rare. Our equipment needed upgrading. The seats of the canoe were broken and not functioning well. Our tandem bike needed some work and the guides were unable to do so. Otherwise worth the experience...

It was a very nice trip by canoe, but just a litte bit to long, we were getting pretty tired at the end. Our asses were painful on the bike back, not comfortabele. And we did not get any info about the way back to the camping. In Decin it is pretty complecated how to get there. Maybe you can give a plan.

Wow, what an experience. Price included canoe, paddles, life jackets, dry bag, bicycle, helmet, lock and delivery at nominates point. Collected canoe from the activity centre and set off downstream for a leisurely 3hour paddle covering 23km. At the agreed switch over point the team were there to collect the canoe and give us the bikes to ride back along the riverbank. A complete days activity for an absolute bargain price. English speaking team, professional and really nice. Suitable for reasonably active people but other options available such as train home, shorter distances etc.

We hired bikes from the tourist information centre in Bad Schandau and cycled down to Dečin (just over 22km). The cycle path was great, really smooth and accessible. Once we got to Dečin, we waited for the ActivePoint team to arrive and they kitted us out with our kayak and appropriate gear. We then enjoyed the 22km paddle back to Bad Schandau. The views of the rock faces and surrounding hills were just beautiful and we were lucky to have a glorious sunny day too. Would thoroughly recommend this tour.

23km canoe down the Elbe was very beautiful! It’s a slow moving river so requires a decent amount of paddling. Took us 3.5 hours to get the Bad and the map said it would take about 4. Took e bikes back which was fine since it’s a flat paved path. We were only given a map and general area as to where to get off the river and was given no safety info for the canoe. You have to get off at this very small beachy area at the end of Bad with no signage. We didn’t know if this was the right spot. We even had to paddle up stream a bit because we went past it. We waited there hoping it was the right spot until about 10 minutes later the van showed up with our bikes. Again, given no direction other than which way on the path and to drop it off at the camp. Definitely need a good sense of direction to do this activity but if you’re comfortable with that and enjoy the outdoors, it was a great experience and beautiful ride! Took us about 5.5 hours round trip

I ended up visiting this place three times! twice to rent a via ferrata set and one trip kayaking from Decin to Bad schandau. The via ferrata has many routes which are different difficulties and all a great climb, the kayaking was many hours of beautful views! The staff were very friendly and the prices decent, so I would very much recommend going here if any of their services interest you :)

Super relaxing canoe trip for 3 hours from Decin. We took the train back to Decin from Schmilka very easy. We would next time take the bike back to Decin option.

More than 24 hours before the trip we wanted to cancel our trip, due to thunderstorms in de weatherforecast. At the Decin office the ladies were not really helpful, they just gave us a phone number. When we asked them to call for us, because we don't master the Czech language, they said that the person at the phone speaks English. Not really customer friendly. Then at the phone they said; "Thunderstorms? No there will be no thunderstorms, you can just go, maybe a reschedule to an earlier moment the same day." So we rescheduled from 12.00 to 9.30. Then we received a confirmation mail with the old time in it. To be sure we asked the ladies at the office again. In the computer still the old time appeared and, again, they just gave us the phone number... (help your customers!). Then the day itself.... We left at 9.30, beautiful sunny wheather. The guy at the start told us it would take us 3 hours to canoe the river, we were supposed to get off of the water near cafe Richter. But he would be there at 13.00 and wave at us, so nog problem. Just before we arrived at the end point; Thunderstorms! So we were soaked wet. But the biggest problem was that it was 11.30, so it took us 1.5 hours instead of 3 hours and is was absolutely unclear where to get off the river, no flag, no sign or whatsoever. And nobody of the organisation was there. So we called the well known phone number to pick us up ... and waited (soaked wet and cold).... and waited... and waited. At 13.15 finally someone arrived with the bikes. But now it really started raining, more thunder and lightning. So we crossed the river with the ferry and with high speed cycling we went back to Decin. The weather is not the problem, the trip itself is really worth the effort, but the organization is bad, customer unfriendly.

We booked online as you have too, read trough everything and didnt come across anything about you having to have euro’s for the ferry, which is necessary to do the trip, Otherwise you Cant get across to bike home. We didnt see the tiny lettering about this and was not verbally informed, which meant we hade to bike and extra 12km to cross a bridge. This is quite a detour when the originally bike trips is 17km. So remember money for the ferry! When returing the bikes we were not told where to put them. Carpark is quite far from the store in walking distance. The staff in the store was very rude when we asked them at the end of the Tour. Never experienced so lousy service. But! The trip it self is very recommedable! Great canoe trips and lovely bike ride!!
