Following the southern coast of the island, stop at Vila Franca do Campo (first Capital of the island). Head for the wonderful Furnas Valley, a natural theater with the blue sea and the green hills through the route. Awaits us, a lagoon ripped through gardens of sparkling flowers and dense forest taking us to the world of fairy tales. Area of mineral and thermal waters, near Lagoa das Furnas where next to the fumaroles you'll see where the famous “Cozido” stew is cooked in holes inside earth´s heat for 6 to 7 hours and you can taste at a local restaurant (not included). In the parish of Furnas a magnificent setting, provided by fumaroles, will wrap you in a fog of mystery and magical atmosphere. You can also experience a thermal bath in iron waters at a temperature around 39º C(102ºF) at Terra Nostra Botanical Garden (entrance fee not included).
