Mount Teide is a great place to view the stars with the naked eye. I also saw 4 shooting stars. At 2,100 m above sea level you are above the clouds and the humidity is low. Having a hire car I drove myself. For 47 Euros per person, the extra you get from this experience is : * A look at 4 celestial objects through an (I'd guess 6 inch) telescope, with automatic tracking. Each person got to look at each object for about a minute. : ** A couple of globular clusters ** Andromeda galaxy - which looks like a smudge rather than a spiral that might be seen from a long exposure picture. ** Saturn, with its ring and three moons. (Looks just as you would hope and expect). * A guide describing a bit about each of the 4 celestial objects. * A bit of general astronomy info - such as size and age of the milky way, looking back in time at distant objects, where we are in the milky way, satellites, the ecliptic, how to find certain things, like the pole star, how to make the most of your eye's night vision. * A slightly greater amount of talk about constellations and mythology behind them. * Guides shining laser pointers at the stars, constellation and other celestial objects they are talking about. * Photos taken on the night of the celestial objects we looked at. Personal/family group photo with several second exposure to capture the night sky behind followed by a flash to get you in the picture. We considered the meal and sunset watch options but went to the same park instead, had a picnic and watched the sunset from above the clouds. With my time over again I'd have just gone for the free (other than cost of whatever you take) picnic, free sunset watch and free look at the night sky with my Mark 1 eyeballs. Not least as the experience clashed with a CD Tenerife home game that I would like to have watched.

Our two guides were great, really informative and patient. Do not underestimate how cold it is – wrap up warm! The night sky of Tenerife is incredible and they even organised a shooting star for us to see!

Very informative and beautiful. I was hoping to see a planet or two but my timing wasn’t right for that. The drive up to the meeting point was breathtaking. It was cold during the presentation so make sure you take a warm jacket not just a sweatshirt. Would recommend!

Incredible! Highly recommend. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. The views were amazing. Only slight downside is the lack of toilets, so beware of this if driving up.

My partner and I had a wonderful first time experience stargazing with Miguel and Adri! Super informative, we learned some fun facts, and saw a beautiful night sky. Would absolutely recommend, and would repeat.

Everything was great! My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the Stargazing experience: beautiful views and friendly conversations. Just a small heads-up: bring warm clothes with you. We went in April, and it was quite freezing at night.

Cold but awesome Magnificent theatre, and commentary very informative. Miguel’s Knowledge was great and his English was good even though his accent was strong.

Fabulous views of the starry skies that are only possible in such a dark unspoiled area. Guides were very knowledgeable and able to answer questions. The lazer pointer was great, showing us exactly what they were telling us about. Only issues I would raise that would make the experience even better, the group was a bit too large, and maybe curtail the explanation of so many constellations, it’s quite cold out there standing around for an hour or so. Overall though a really good experience.

This was the best experience we had on our holiday. Our guides were so knowledgeable and inspiring. We did the 2 person stargazing and learned so much that has inspired us to learn more ongoing. Loved seeing Saturn in the telescope and the photos as souvenirs are amazing. Something we will remember forever.
