This was a wonderful tour and our guide, Oreste, was great! He was very knowledgeable about the war, the troops, the impact to Sicily and the people. It was fascinating and we learned a lot. Oreste was very kind, professional, and accommodated our needs. He allowed us to ride in his car from the museum to the next part of the tour and this really helped my elderly mom with getting around. I highly recommend this tour. It was a great experience and the museum is really nice.

We started at the Museo dello slorco Sicila 1943. From the outside it looks rather small but as you enter it opens up wonderfully as the days/actions of the Allied invasion telling you full story from start to finish. There’s every conceivable, gun relics, uniforms, photos from all sides of the battle. Our brilliant guide Marco answered my many questions, with a big smile and his knowledge of the campaign was very helpful. As someone who loves to read absolutely everything in a museum by only slight grumble was that the English translation for most exhibits was missing. However Marco was a fantastic translator for bits I couldn’t understand. After the museum, we headed off to see the CWG in Catania which was a real experience and incredibly moving. Next to Primosole Bridge and other areas of interest regarding the battle. We were never rushed, nothing was too much trouble and Marco even kindly dropped us back at our hotel. A truly memorable experience, if I could give six stars I would have!!!! Highly recommended.

We had a fascinating tour of the 1943 Museum with Matilde. She really brought the place alive for us and it was helpful to have here there to explain exhibits that didn’t have an english translation. She knew alot about WW2 Sicily. She also drove us into the centre of Catania and showed is a few more places. I would recommend this tour

Our guide was knowledgeable and informative about the WWII-Catania history. He guided us through the museum and then we were able to enter locations in the city not accessible to the public. It was a rich experience, full of history.
