Such a special experience today seeing the hidden, less well known Kyoto. Yuta is a natural raconteur, telling us stories, historical connections and anecdotes about life in Kyoto. He showed us a lesser known shrine and an exquisite temple as we cycled through some varied and fascinating districts, and it was for us a great introduction to the city on our first day. Thankyou Yuta! Highly recommended - Jo & Simon

Michael is absolutely brilliant! He shares his incredible knowledge of Japan's history is a fun and super engaging way. It was great to experience the less hectic parts of Kyoto on a bike. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who is seeking a fun, informative and unique experience. Thanks Michael!

We’ve gone on many tours in Japan and all have been exceptional but Sean was the most amazing guide we have had. He was extremely knowledgeable about Japan history, culture and could go both wide and deep in many areas. The background he provided was exceptional and really made all the stops so much more enjoyable. He also customized the tour to best meet our needs and made some stops at some amazing new places. Additionally, we were so happy with the tour and all the great places he took us to we wanted a detailed itinerary recap which he emailed to us. This certainly took some work and was much appreciated. Would rate Sean and the tour an 11/10!!

Family of four - two adults and two teenagers [16yrs and 17yrs] had the most amazing tour with Yuta today. Caught the train from Osaka to Kyoto and then a taxi to the e-bike location. Yuta was there to greet us. He was super helpful and professional and explained how the day would roll, as well as how to use the e-bikes. He was very re-assuring [especially for those of us who have never been on an e-bike before]. The bikes felt safe, comfortable and easy to use. Yuta's explanations per stop were very thorough and interesting. The locations we stopped were beautiful and off the beaten track and quiet - at one temple we were the only visitors aside from one local couple. The stories and explanations of the history, culture and religion were fascinating. The scenery along the bike route was beautiful!! Definitely recommend this as a must do while in Kyoto. At the end of the tour, Yuta was extremely gracious offering all guests assistance with their next travels. His recommendation for a restaurant that caters for a vegetarian in downtown Kyoto was spot on!! This half day experience is a must do - a highlight of our travels in Japan so far.

We had a wonderful time on this tour! Our host, Michael was an excellent storyteller and really brought the history and magic of Kyoto alive for us. The bikes were in great condition and all the places we visited were steeped in history. We simply loved biking through all of the neighborhoods to get to the temples and shrines. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone who loves history and wants to see Kyoto in a unique way!

We had a really great tour with Sean. We saw several locations rich with history and off the beaten (tourist) path. Sean was a fantastic tour guide and very personable. My husband is really into Japanese history, and I could tell Sean went into more historical depth than he probably would in most tours to adapt the experience for us. The ebikes were a lot of fun, and the experience was unforgettable. Highly recommend!

We did a morning trip with Yuta and 2 other couples. Yuta was interesting to listen to and even kept the attention of young teens :). We exchanged the touristy golden palace for a more “hidden gem” that was great to see, and Yuta did a quick tea ceremony for us as a break (we needed a little food & drink mid-way so this was great). We got more miles in at the end of the trip, as the beginning was shorter bike rides between stops. The route felt safe for people comfortable biking on a street alongside cars. Only thing I would change is to make the Geisha area stop at the beginning shorter.
