You are the whole day, with your local guide, inside the countryside of Crete. The roads are almost all off road, the chance to see the real inland of Crete! We drive through the mountains towards the grape yards of the wine areas, passing small villages, through a river bed, sheltered by bamboo, a lot of nature. Crossing the river where we may have some water flowing in the months April, May and again from half of September. One of the highlights is a visit of a cave. We stop in a very authentic mountain village, on the square next to the church, for a coffee. We continue our trip along several small villages, on dirt tracks and through the green nature and herbs, passing olive groves and grape fields. We stop for lunch in a very small mountain village with a spectacular beautiful view. After lunch we drive through a mountainous area. We've been using the jeep safari since the early 2000s, and I'm always amazed at how this team, with Gijs, Loise, and Taina, shows you a different side of the island. You're not only drawn into that part of nature, but also into the mountain villages, their inhabitants, and their culture. I have no doubt that if you're even remotely interested in Cretan nature and culture, the jeep safari will have piqued your curiosity about Crete and all the possibilities it has to offer. Finally, thank you Gijs for your lecture about olive oil production, one of Crete's riches, and thank you George for the delicious lunch with local vegetables at the 'Τρεις πηγές' (the three wells)

We had a brilliant day exploring some of the less touristy areas of the island. Lots of off roading too, which meant we saw areas not accessible normally by car. Lunch was delicious and there was no pressure to buy prducts at any of the stops. Our driver and guide Louise was fantastic, she was informative, energetic and funny. By the end of the day it felt as though we had just been out with friends for the day. Highly recommended.

Booked this with a few friends and went in not knowing what we were expecting. Easily the best part of our trip to Crete! Got shown very non touristy parts of Crete and they were all wonderful spots! Really enjoy the tour guide, Louise, made the whole trip fun and interesting! The off roading on old 4x4s was a lot of fun too!

Fantastic day out. Guide was excellent and went into great detail wherever we went. A real display of the culture and friendliness here at Crete. Lunch was lovely. Well recommend.

Had so much fun with eye travel for the 4x4 tour. The staff were extremely friendly, entertaining and informative. The food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommended

We enjoyed the self drive safari of the organisation Eye Travel very much. We drove ourselves with the ‘Eye Travel’ jeeps and enjoyed the rough beautiful landscape filled with olive trees. Our guide of the day, Louise did a phantastic job managing a group of toerists in an interesting and humourous way and switching fluently between English and French.

If you love history then you'll love this tour. We couldn't drive as we are from Australia but that actually worked out better as the tour guide told us so much history of Crete. The lunch was also amazing.

The jeep safari was a 10/10 , the views was spectacular and never ending . This is one of our last big trips before we set back home . And I would like to say it was wonderful . The team members are so friendly and make you feel comfortable . Especially Demetrius he was a wonderful guide and a good person.

Louisa is a superb guide, but don't let her have more than one Café or she won't stop. Such a great experience, best way to enjoy the island outwith the tourist nonsense.

This excursion is perfect to know Crete better by actually merging with the everyday life of the people who live inside the island : you’ll visit a cave, discover a cute little town and its town center, taste home-made olive oil and swim in the beautiful beach of Mália. The lunch is integrated inside the excursion price as well as the cars. Moreover, we were lucky to do the excursion with Louise, which is literally the best - guide - ever.
