First I would like to commend the staff for accommodating our unusual circumstances of driving from Cortona in torrential rain. This group is extremely exceptional. Knowledgeable, funny, exciting, polite, professional. Loved this entire event!!!!

The bottom line this was fun. I would recommend to friends. I do have a few suggestions to improve the experience (the make it “5 star”) The hosts was delightful but they were exhausted and we can tell. Most host peaks so quickly we could not follow his story and instructions. I know the amount of time in this visit is limited in order to share all of the important information they shared. I don’t know if there’s a solution but just wanted to let you know The other information that you should know that five of us had raw dough. For the pizza It made the pizza inedible 😢.

You will absolutely love this experience. It was fun and we met some amazing people. The chefs were incredible. And the pizza and gelato were delicious.

The tour was just a short ride out of Florence to a beautiful hillside farm. Lovely garden and the setup was so warm and inviting. The ease of which they taught us how to make pasta and gelato was amazing. I am not sure who made the experience better, our guide/chef Livio, our master gelato maker Max or Nonna Carmela who dance sang and made pasta with us! ALL were amazing. I would do this every time I come back to Florence

This was an experience to be remembered! It was very rainy in Florence on the day that we went, so we realized we should have brought our umbrellas as we were a bit soaked by the time we got on the bus; however, the experience made up for it. The kitchen is in a beautiful setting in Tuscany. The chefs were very entertaining as well as good teachers. Making it gelato was so easy and fun that my husband immediately went online to find an ice cream maker so that we can make gelato at home. I do not normally eat pizza in America because most American pizza is not very good in my estimation, but I had no difficulty eating the entire pizza that I made. All of the gelato and sorbets were good, but my favorite was the gelato that my husband and I made, which was pistachio on which you sprinkle red salt. This class was so much fun that now we are looking into other cooking classes by the same group.

Workers were great! Unfortunately, this company overbooked our event which was set to a max of 26. There were 34 people including a large group of 20.

This experience was very fun and a nice break from all the walking we were doing on our vacation. The chefs facilitated the preparation and cooking at a good pace so that we were able to enjoy the experience and eventually eat the pasta on time. We made unique flavors of gelato and were able to try several different flavors.

Admittedly, my husband and I aren’t usually fans of group activities while on vacation—but Davide, Liviu, and Erika with Walkabout Tours completely changed that! This class ended up being one of the highlights of our two-week trip through Italy. From start to finish, everything was so well organized—clear communication, smooth transitions between each part of the experience, and a perfect mix of learning and fun. The setting was absolutely beautiful, with views and atmosphere that made it feel like a true Tuscan escape. The team’s humor, warmth, and passion for Italian cooking made everyone feel comfortable and involved. We learned to make fresh pasta and gelato from scratch, shared a delicious meal together, and left with full stomachs and even fuller hearts. If you’re even thinking about signing up—do it. It’s hands-on, authentic, and one of the most memorable ways to experience Italy.

Wonderful experience learning to make pizza and gelato in Tuscany! Max, Arla and Tizuano were amazing at teaching us the skills of making pizzas and gelato. The people in class were from all over the world and were fascinating. This was a must do when your visiting the Florence Italy area!
