Breathtaking Tikal Sunrise: Ancient Maya & Jungle Wildlife

Marlon was amazing, he is very knowledgeable and has an answer for every single question you might have and the incredible talent of spotting animals in the sea of green that is the Guatemalan jungle. He picked me up from my hotel at the exact time arranged, took me on my own to explore the park since no one else booked the tour, and gave me all the information I needed, walked me around the site, giving me options instead of just telling me what to do. I was feeling a little under the weather for this adventure but his presence and constant input was absolutely what I needed to bounce right back and being able to appreciate the majestic nature of Tikal and the wild life surrounding it. I’m planing on booking him again when I return to Tikal with my family in the future. 100 out of 100

Excellent tour! Marlon was very knowledgeable, not only about the ruins but the jungle, environment and biology. He and his wife provided 2 breakfasts which were needed to keep our energy up. It was a lot of walking and climbing, but well worth it.

Marlon is like the David Attenborough of Guatemala, so knowledgeable of the surroundings and history. Marlon shows he really cares for the rainforest & environment & wildlife which is Very heartwarming to see. The experience was truly one of a kind and Marlon took his time to show and tell everything. When other tour groups rushed off, we were able to take our time to take in the sounds/sights/smells. Sunrise Tikal, avoid all the crowds and heat, and chance to see many wildlife. More importantly, Marlon, the tour guide is very good and knowledgable, he can answer you all the questions. For this he’s not sure (just 1-2 Out of 20 questions from the group), instead of giving us a false answer and lied about it, he would google to verify. The way he talks is good and not too long for each place, which I think it’s perfect, defo recommending this company!

My mother and I are from Australia. We did the sunrise tikal tour with Gem Trips. From the beginning, they had great communication. The owner Marlon messaged us via Whatsapp to arrange our pick up and helped us with the purchasing of the tickets ahead of time. They arrived on time in the morning. José Moreno was our guide. He was fun, very knowledgeable and attentive. Fluent in English and Spanish. At the end of the day, Tikal is going to be the same no matter which day or time you go, but it is the guide makes all the difference in the experience you're going to have. We highly recommend José from Gem Trips!

Traveled with my boyfriend and his family to celebrate his birthday and wow this experience was the best birthday gift. Marlon the tour guide made it into an amazing experience. He explains all the history, culture, & architecture. Also be sure to ask questions he knows so knowledgeable. The sunrise experience was surreal, definitely worth waking up for. You get more than what you pay for, would 1000% do it again and recommend to everyone

The tour was excellent! our tour guide took the time to prepare a very good agenda, took us to the places we prioritized, and gave us time to enjoy the sights, sounds, and nature. His information was thorough covering from archeology, fauna, and flora to culture and history. I highly recommend this tour.

This excursion was one of the best guided trip that I have ever experienced. Marlon is an excellent, intelligent tour guide, he is very knowledgable, conscientious, and has a very calm, and confident energy that every tour guide should have. He was on time at the early pick up to to the sunrise, had a lovely breakfast- coffee prepared, then shared a lot of amazing facts, and interesting information regarding the Mayan history. It was a real pleasure to spend time with him and experience the beautiful Tikal National Park, that had succeeded my expectation!
