Pom was our guide to the tour, he was very knowledgeable and humorous that made tour more enjoyable. Arrangements are excellent including the small kayak tour in mangroves. Sunset at the end was so beautiful in the open lake.

The tour was expensive and the only real activity of the tour was a local boat through the mangroves and village which you had to pay an additional $6.5 on arrival. They then keep you at a floating restaurant for over an hour to wait for sun set where the food prices were double the prices found in Siem reap. While at the restaurant, the guide basically forced us to leave a 5 star review which made us feel very uncomfortable.

We booked through our White Rabbit Hostel and the entire process was very smooth and affordable. We were picked up on time by a tour bus with other guests on our tour along with the amazing tour guide, Pon, who was very informative, enthusiastic, and friendly throughout the entire trip. He answered questions, took pictures, and had a great sense of humor. During the floating tour section you have the option to pay ~$5 USD/person to take a guided canoe trip through the mangroves and up close and personal with the stilt houses which we believe was so worth it. Although the horizon on the lake was cloudy at sunset, it did not take away from the experience. I’d recommend checking out this fun excursion that is time and budget friendly while also provided a glimpse into a significant cultural way of life of the local Cambodian people.

I had an amazing experience on the Sunset Tour of Kampong Home Village and the Tonle Sap — it was easily one of the highlights of my trip to Cambodia! The tour offered the perfect mix of culture, nature, and relaxation, and our guide Poun Kong made it absolutely unforgettable. From the moment the tour began, Poun was friendly, knowledgeable, and full of fascinating insights about local life, the floating villages, and the unique ecosystem of the Tonle Sap Lake. He spoke excellent English and had a great sense of humour, which made the day even more enjoyable. What really stood out was how genuine and respectful the experience felt. Visiting the local village gave me a real appreciation for Cambodian culture and the daily lives of the people who live by the lake. Watching the sunset over the Tonle Sap was simply breathtaking — the colours reflecting off the water were incredible.
