Unforgettable Ireland: Wicklow, Glendalough & Kilkenny Escape

The guide Pat is truly engaging, an heir to the Irish bards. Despite the relatively long transport times, there was never a chance to get bored thanks to the stories and anecdotes provided by the guide. The journey itself was quite comfortable, thanks also to the driver Patrick.

Perfect day trip to do with friends! Enjoyed Glendalough and Kilkinney despite the light rain and wind. Our guide Pat was great craic! He gave us a great overview of the places’ history and made it interesting.

This tour was exceptional, and we are glad we chose Collins! Dermot, our tour guide, kept us engaged throughout the day with his knowledge and friendliness. We traveled with young kids and they enjoyed learning about the history of each site. They give you plenty of time at each stop and we did not feel rushed. Adam was a great driver and got us to each location on time! And the bus was very clean! We were very happy and will choose a Collins Tour again next time we are in Ireland.

If you’re lucky enough to meet Pat when you arrive, you’re in for a treat — he’s an absolute legend! The hours pass quickly, filled with great stories, laughter, and fascinating bits of Irish history. We had only planned to explore Dublin, but taking this spontaneous detour turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.

I was on a short trip to Dublin and when talking to friends about my trip, I began to feel like I was going to miss out on other beautiful places in Ireland. I found this day trip with great reviews and it did not disappoint! I was most looking forward to Kilkenny but Glendalough stole the show!! The long drive from place to place went by very quick with the wonderful history and storytelling from our guide and, of course, the beautiful scenery. Tip: bring motion sickness meds if you tend to get carsick.

Lovely to see a different side of Ireland to the centre of Dublin where we had been staying. Beautiful scenery and enjoyable walks made all the more memorable by the informative and entertaining Pat who was our tour guide for the day. I would highly recommend.

Nice day trip out of Dublin for those looking to explore outside of the city. To me, the highlight of the day was the national Park. We had over an hour to explore the gorgeous scenery and the lake around the Glendalough Monastery. Kilkenny was fine for food and shopping, but there wasn't much to do beyond that (we weren't super interested in exploring the castle). Highly recommend Left Bank for lunch in Kilkenny. Our guide, Dermot, was very informative but was a really big talker. We couldn't relax on the bus much.

Nice trip to get outside of Dublin. Despite the rain, had an interesting visit at the monastic site. Would have liked a bit more time in Kilkenny.
